Returning to a restaurant is always a true test. The first time can be a pleasant surprise, but the second visit determines whether it truly deserves a spot on your list of favorites. Rocco’s Tacos in West Palm Beach was one of those places that left us wanting more, so my girlfriend and I decided to come back and see if the magic was still there.
From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was vibrant and full of energy. The restaurant was packed, the TVs were broadcasting multiple sports events, and the combination of dim lighting with Mexican-inspired décor created the perfect balance between modern and authentic. It feels like a place where food, fun, and great vibes naturally come together.
A Must-Have Starter
We kicked off the night with an absolute classic that you simply cannot skip at Rocco’s Tacos: the guacamole with tacos. It’s practically a ritual at this restaurant, and skipping it would mean missing out on one of their best offerings.
We ordered the guacamole with a bit of spice, and honestly, it was outstanding. Fresh, creamy, and with the perfect balance of flavors, the spice added just the right kick without overpowering the natural avocado taste. It was served with crispy tortillas that made every bite even better.
Tacos: Great Variety, Flavor, and Generous Portions
After whetting our appetite with the guacamole, we went for six tacos of different flavors. The first thing we noticed was their generous size, which is always a plus. The meat was well-seasoned and juicy, and the ingredients were fresh and well-balanced. Each taco had its own unique character, from classic carne asada to more adventurous choices like fish and adobo pork.
We paired our meal with an ice-cold Corona and a Coca-Cola, which rounded out the experience perfectly.
Service: Good, But Could Be Improved
As for the service, it was generally good. The servers were friendly and knowledgeable about the menu, but the wait time was a bit longer than expected, especially given how busy the night was. It wasn’t a dealbreaker, but it’s an area that could be improved to make the experience even smoother.
Final Verdict
Rocco’s Tacos remains a solid choice if you’re looking for great Mexican food in a lively and welcoming atmosphere. The guacamole is a must, the tacos deliver on flavor, and the ambiance is perfect for a night out with friends or a casual date. Despite the slight delay in service, it’s still a place I would return to without hesitation.

Read moreMy wife and I dined here around 5:00 pm on June 16, 2025 while on a camping trip at nearby John Prince Park Campground. We had eaten here several years ago while attending the annual Palm Beach Boat Show. The food was good then, so we decided a repeat dinner here was in order. We sat at the bar, and the friendly bartender informed us that it was Happy Hour until 7:00 pm and gave us their deeply discounted Happy Hour menu (photo attached). We each got $5 House Margaritas (excellent) then ordered several Tacos off the menu, which were fresh-made and absolutely delicious. There was hardly anyone in the restaurant, or at the bar since it was a Monday night, but that was nice for us to be able to enjoy a quiet conversation together and chat with the friendly bartender. Rocco’s is now a chain of restaurants that’s expanded to several areas of South and Central Florida and I’m pretty sure they all of them have roughly the same food menus. If you see one and are in the mood for “Gourmet-Caliber” Mexican Food, it’s definitely worth trying out, and their Guacamole is made fresh at your table; it’s delicious (the best I’ve ever had). The restaurant décor is also nice here and you can see just how many flavors of tequila they offer at the bar (over 50 and maybe 100). These places cater to the younger crowd, which we are no longer able to keep up with, so they usually get very crowded starting after 8:30 pm and stay that way until after midnight. If you want a quiet dinner with no wait, then you want to go before 5:00 pm. Parking at this particular restaurant was plentiful along the sides streets surround Clematis Street, and runs $2 per hour with a 2 hour limit, and the meters accept credit cards if you don’t have the ParkMobile App on...
Read moreOut of my group of 4 friends, this is what I took away from the experience: Two of us got our ordered food and they said it was delicious. (Big servings!)* I just ordered a mojito following our fourth friend. I got it ‘Dragonberry’ flavored which was delicious and the drinks are made with a decent-heavy pour which is always appreciated and uncommon at restaurants! The missing fifth star comes from my friend who was surprised with an undisclosed Chicken dish when he ordered fish. That’s when ALAN come along to our experience and had to face (and be the face of) the mistake the waiter made. An instantly comforting, trusting, and caring energy secured by a warm smile, he eluded genuine care for our situation and experience. Alan’s performance and natural way of holding himself and the situation makes me certain that had he been our waiter he would’ve told my friend initially that the kitchen is out of fish and offered a second dish recommendation before assuming, wasting, and surprising a chicken dish. Alan immediately offered us a free appetizer for the error and wait time. Friend got the guacamole which was always a very big size and very delicious. (The female bathroom was also something to remember as it had movies w/ sound playing on tv’s IN EACH STALL LOL, what?! Never seen that yet before)
Overall I liked: the ambiance & atmosphere; their cocktails; the food by ear; & Alan I disliked: the kitchen’s responsibility to maintain STOCK; our waiters ability to communicate the situation with us.
I would go back to Rocco’s Tacos and try again for the stated likes I listed above (: You’re great Alan!!! And that’s FOUR name drops!!...
