Review of Torero Mexican Cuisine, West Palm Beach

⭐⭐⭐☆☆

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Torero Mexican Cuisine in West Palm Beach, and I must say, the atmosphere is truly amazing. As someone who travels to Mexico quite often, I can confidently say that this restaurant transports you straight into a vibrant Mexican setting, making you feel like you’ve jumped into a different time zone. The decor is colorful and inviting, and the overall ambiance sets the perfect mood for enjoying a meal.

The staff at Torero are wonderful – friendly, attentive, and always ready to help with recommendations or answer any questions about the menu. Their warm hospitality adds to the overall experience and makes you feel right at home.

However, I did find that the food fell a bit short of my expectations. While the flavors were promising, I encountered an issue with the beef in my dish; it was unfortunately dry. This was a big deal for me, as it affected the overall enjoyment of the meal and made the other components taste somewhat bland in comparison. I believe that with some attention to this detail, the dishes could shine even brighter.

Overall, Torero Mexican Cuisine is a fantastic spot for anyone looking to enjoy a slice of authentic Mexican culture. While the food could use some improvement, the atmosphere and service make it worth a visit. I look forward to returning and hoping for an even better culinary experience next time! I have frequented this location almost on a weekly basis now over the last couple years for lunch and find that the majority of menu items are quite good. Portions are generally huge, unless you get the Poco Uno lunch special which is your choice of a select few entrées with rice and beans. My main recommendations would be the Torta, both Milanesa or Al Pastor with fries, Tacos Al Carbon with steak. Also, their Fajitas are pretty good, as are the enchiladas and Chile Colorado.

The service is overall good, obviously with some servers more attentive than others, but overall, a friendly and well trained staff.

I would say my original review and rating below remain solid over this time which is a testament to the quality and consistency of this establishment.

Would give a 4.4 in reality. Had the Chicken Milanesa Torta and ordered rice and beans on the side. Everything was amazing, although it was way too much food for a lunch outing. Next time I'd stick with just the sandwich. The only downside was the Red Salsa that came with the chips was a little overkill with the cilantro. Would definitely return.

Tried them for the second time and was impressed again. I had the Al Pastor Torta and it was delicious. The salsa was better this time, so the last outing might have been a dud. Great lunch...

Visiting South Florida and eager for a margarita in the heat. Place had good reviews and as we walked up was busy and looked good. However, I live in an area with a high population of south and Central American’s and have great authentic restaurants. The food here was lackluster at best (I had what was recommended by the server and my friend had the special). Salsa had little flavor and the hot one was just heat, no flavor. Ordered the Guacamole and it as well had little flavor. Considering they have local advocacies trees I think this was made with unripe ones. The food itself was just ok, a step up from a fast food Mexican but not by much in my opinion.

Her margarita on the rocks was good but my frozen one tasted of water. Asked if there was an issue making it and they put another shot of tequila in it which made it taste like watery tequila. I was charged for the margarita (which I have no issues with) but not the extra shot which I appreciated. I did not drink it as the idea was to have a flavorful margarita, not to just drink alcohol.

The place is very busy and seems popular and the service is great but the food is a big miss for me. Will...

Visited this restaurant for my son’s birthday 🎉. He’s been here before for lunch and said food was good. Well…… he was right! We were seated right away. They have a number of wait staff working together, coordinating the room and food service, talking through ear pieces. I think this helps with smooth operations. The room has ample space, has booths as well as tables. The one downside of this restaurant for me was the noise level. It was a packed house on a Wednesday evening which tells you a lot about the food. We decided to ask for a booth after sitting, and it was quieter so we could converse. The rest was great…food, drinks, service, attentiveness to the table! And they even surprised us with a celebratory dessert, Mariachi hat and singing. Great place for Mexican food.
