Colton's was where my boy's chose to take me for Mother's Day this year; since i love their mesquite grilled chicken and the rice pilaf I was good with this. Ordered our food, I ordered first and order the above mentioned with loaded smashed and salad as my sides. Husband ordered mesquite grilled chicken sandwich and a salad, youngest son ordered country fried chicken with brown gravy and a salad, oldest son ordered country fried chicken with brown gravy, smashed with brown, and a salad, oldest son's girlfriend ordered eirher a 6 oz ribeye or sirloin, baked potato, and salad. Out salads and rolls come quickly, we're enjoyed by all and we sat visiting while waiting on the rest of our meal. It was probably 10-15 minutes later when our food arrived, server passes out the food, I am given mine last and it is country fried chicken, which I did not order and the loaded smashed I did order. Inform server and she looks confused then replies that yes I had said I wanted rhe mesquite chicken. She says it will be a few minutes and heada off in the direction of the kitchen. At least 30 minutes go by and my family has finished their meals and i haven't even gotten an update on when I would be getting my meal. Server never came back to see if those who had their food were satisfied or ask if more rolls were needed. When she finally came by I just told her to cancel my order; what's the point of continuing to wait when my family was already done? We purposely got there a bit after 11 so we wouldn't have to contend with it being extremely busy, we were seated immediately, proving the lunch rush had not yet begun. I get this one day every year to have a meal out with my family because my boys are grown and live elsewhere. I look forward to this day and this year my enjoyment, on Mother's Day, was greatly diminished due to our server not doing her job and ensuring the back of house got my corrected order done as quickly as possible. I won't say that I will absolutely never go back but if I do it will be a very long time. Thank you, Colton's and our sad excuse of a server for making sure I didn't feel special or important on this...
Read moreWent to Colton’s steakhouse and grill on Friday night at 5:30. So I knew they were going to be busy. To my surprise I was seated right away with no wait. Sadly that is where the short wait ended, but I’ll get back to that. The greet staff seated me with a bucket of peanuts and no bucket to put the shells in so not wanting to throw them on the floor I made a nice neat pile on the table and waited for my server to come get my drink order and waited and waited some more finally after 16 minutes my server came up from the kitchen to take my drink order. (Another server passed my table 3 times without speaking a word). I told her that I would like a water to drink and that I was ready to order. I ordered the cheese sticks as an appetizer, the smoked sirloin steak, medium with a loaded baked potato and steamed vegetables. A few minutes later (12) she brought me a glass of water and dinner rolls.the rolls were fresh and warm. The restaurant started filling up so the service started getting worse another 18 minutes went by and what I assume was a sever assistant brought out my cheese stick appetizer. And I waited. My dinner arrived a speedy 27 minutes later with a warning from my server that the bowl the steamed vegetables were in was hot. Sadly that was the only part of the dinner that was hot. The baked potato was not even hot enough to melt the butter. The steak had nice grill marks on it but was cold all the way through and very very rare and very tough, almost like they threw a steak from the fridge on the grill. It definitely wasn’t anywhere near a smoker. The corn on the cob might have been slightly warm but also wouldn’t melt butter. The food quality issues aside I know that a person dining alone doesn’t present the same opportunity for a large tip as a 6 or a 4 top do but size of the party should not dictate the quality of service one receives. I can’t help but wish someone would open a good steakhouse in west plains. Total time in the restaurant = 1hour 36 minutes Total cost=33.49 Tip=6.00 Chance of...
Read moreI just not a big fan of the food. Use to go all the time & the service started getting crappie & when I said something the owner told me just don't never come back. If that's the way you treat your customers why would you want to. I tried Colton restaurant again on 1/4/2020 & I placed an order around 10:20 - 10:25 & spent around $35.00. I arrived @ the restaurant around 11:12 was told too pick it up around 11:15. When I got there I waited about 10 minutes before anyone came out & when she did she took my money & said I'll be right back about that time another customer went in & I saw the waitress coming out to my car but stopped & waited on that customer instead of finish waiting on me. So I had too wait another 15 minutes till see was done with her. When she finally did come out with my food & change I asked her if that other customer was more important than me then about the time another employee came up & I was trying to explain & in the meantime the waitress started to cry after I asked her if the other customer was more important than the other employee said I don't want to hear anymore & walked away. He went inside did something came back out & said that I was band from the restaurant & if I didn't shut up I would be band from the pickup. He was not the owner or a manager. I just can't believe that anyone in any position would tell a customer too shut up. Where does an employee of of kind tell a customer too shut up. He was not a manager or the owner but for for him too say that was very I'll mannered. I was also told people in the south we're very polite but I guess this...
