We decided to celebrate Mother’s Day at the restaurant, hoping for a delightful experience. Upon entering, we noticed that the establishment was clean, and the waitstaff were friendly and attentive. However, despite the initial positive impression, it took an astonishing 40 minutes for our meals to reach the table, even though the restaurant was not particularly busy.
When our food finally arrived, disappointment quickly set in. My rice was unappetizingly hard and dry, far from the fluffy texture one would expect. The beans were unrecognizable, resembling something unsightly and unappetizing. My husband ordered a salad, but it came served oddly with a side of rice, which added to our confusion. My mother had ordered chicken, but it was almost impossible to cut through, even with a steak knife. She also requested rice with vegetables, yet what she received contained only three tiny peas and lacked any other vegetables, making the dish appear dull and uninviting.
The waitress, noticing my dissatisfaction with my meal, kindly offered to remove my plate from our bill, although I insisted she shouldn’t, as I had already eaten some of the meat. Ultimately, our total bill amounted to $88.00, and we decided to leave a tip of $20 to acknowledge the waitress’s efforts. Despite the service, the meal itself was disappointing and did not meet our expectations for a special occasion. I hope in the future they can...
Read moreMy wife and I went to Los Arrieros Restaurant located at 428 Penn Ave, West Reading, PA 19611 for our wedding anniversary in the early evening. We had never been there before and we wanted to try their Colombian cuisine. We were greeted by one of the owners as we entered. We found out that it is a family owned business. We knew that they had not received their liquor license and brought a bottle of wine.We are amazed by the number of choices on the menu. I had the red snapper meal. Normally it is fried. I asked if it could be steamed and the owner said, "Of course". My wife ordered the country platter which comes in three sizes. She ordered the small one and was stuffed.I took some of my meal home. Later the other owner came to the table to visit. Both the husband and wife are so friendly. We will continue to patronize Los Arrieros Restaurant!Next time we go for lunch. Very...
Read moreVisited this place 8/30/25 at around 7pm-ish. We were 4 families and about 15 people in total. We reserved our table ahead of time and the staff was absolutely amazing in getting us all menus and extra seating. We all placed our orders with relative ease and had an answer for every question we asked about the menu. The food took a while to come out (expected, since we were a large group) and it came out 100% correct and steaming hot. 10/10, would absolutely eat here if I ever visit Pennsylvania again!
On top of that, they were very accommodating and packed up two dozen pan de bonos for us to take home (we paid, of course, but we were not expecting to leave home with an edible memento of our amazing dinner!). The menu was bilingual (English and Spanish) which made it so much easier to understand what was in the dish. And the fruit smoothies (batidos) were to die...
