Their food service is continuing to go downhill...unfortunately. Some of their management decided that all food promos, like special discounts is for dine-in only, however there's no notes posted about this anywhere on IKEA website or in store. So you can't come to get one adult dish and two kids dishes to go anymore! WTH?! A customer can't buy food to go and go pick up his kids at school?! Kids must be present as they require now at West Sacramento location. Besides this you can't buy something in Cafeteria to go! They usually don't have forks, spoons or bags to put your food into. Ridiculous and stupid for IKEA. And that's the only IKEA which having that problem. Food management and store general managers are nuts if they believe that's the way to run a customer oriented business. Once again it's just stupid that food zones in West Sacramento store is usually dirty, ICEE beverages machines isn't working (no ice, just sweet colored liquid), coffee is not like coffee, no bags/boxed to buy food to go. It's not a grocery store, it's a restaurant and a cafeteria, you must have options for food to go. It's pretty clear that IKEA corporate is out of control of what's going on in the store. Always outstaffed, always some issues. We've been living in Sacramento for last four years and service at IKEA is going lower and lower. Been to many European locations and In the USA. This one is one of the worst, unfortunately.

Nice place to have a quick or a long meal) Always check Ikea.com or ask cashier about offers and promos. For example IKEA offers TWO FREE kid's meals when you buy at least one adult entrée. Or if you an IKEA FAMILY member (it's free to become one) you can have FREE tee or coffee from Monday to...
Read moreAs IKEA Family members, you get 50% off adult entrées at your local IKEA store's Swedish Restaurant every Tuesday until 10/31/24.
I think each month they change the day of the week for 50% off entrées. During the summer months, it was on Fridays. You can check their websites for monthly specials.
It's not gourmet food but it's a great option if you're on a tight budget and want a fun night out with friends and family. It's a counter service restaurant and you don't need to leave a tip.
The Swedish meatball is a must try. If you don't want the mashed potatoes and peas, you can get meatballs by itself. My son likes the chicken stripes and fries. The pulled pork is not bad too.
The best part of eating at the Cafe is you can walk off some of the calories by browsing at the...
Read moreMelas were delicious. I took my brothers and parents to the ikea restaurant and ordered food especially the chicken strip meal for my siblings as they are autistic and have sensory issues. However when asking for fries and chicken strips within the meal, the woman serving us claimed they were out of fries and tried to offer mashed potatoes instead cause of their “supposed outage” of fries. My brothers immediately said no and as she said this we yet saw fries in the serving area and a fresh batch even being made. When calling her out for this she did end up serving us the fries and seemed clueless to what we requested especially when telling her multiple times the order we wanted. Good meal but coordination is the issue when communicating to the chefs at...
