Tl:dr disappointment, food came across as tourist trap level of cooking. Was really looking forward to a third local sushi option. (Not unfamiliar with sushi dining. Tsuki Sushi is a favorite.) Decent atmosphere in terms of wall treatments, tv clashed with music. One or the other not both. It's walking up counter for ordering. Staff greeted us when we entered. No interaction while we reviewed the menu. The menu uses small font, minimal spacing between menu items. Which makes reading it challenging. Food wise: it's cold out was hoping for a hot green tea the only options were cold drinks; we placed our orders and then selected a spot to seat. Daughter had to pick apart her roll as the eel skin was rubbery and hard to chew. She ate what she could, but finally decided the food was inedible. Bento box: miso soup not as clear as used to and was probably the better part of the meal, the tempura batter wasn't even close to the light airy tempura frequently found at other restaurants, rice was super sticky and tasted a bit watery, salad wasn't horrid - dressing was very nice, dipping sauce was almost bland, (I love fried tofu and have it frequently) the fried tofu was a big let down no treatment of the bean curd for flavor or texture. Overall the meal felt like something that you would get served at a tourist trap catering to clients unfamiliar with a cuisine.

So the star of the menu is definitely the tofu musubi! Absolutely delicious and SO rare to find. I've been to a million sushi/ Asian restaurants and have never seen a vegetarian musubi! That being said, I was shocked to find not one single vegetarian sushi roll?? Not one?! I couldn't believe it.. in addition, I can't have mayonnaise, so I was a bit disappointed when my spring rolls came with a side of spicy mayo instead of the traditional sweet and sour sauce..it is not noted on the menu, either. I ended up just dipping them in soy sauce, which certainly isn't the best pairing, IMO. Hopefully this place will add a vegetarian roll or two (just a simple avacado roll/ yam roll??), then i will change my 3 stars into 4.

Absolutely amazing new sushi spot that opened near Walmart. Very fresh, very friendly, and very quick with the food.

I was so excited for this restaurant to open especially with it teasing us with the "coming soon" sign for over a year (or it felt that long at least), but so utterly disappointed in its quality.

The tonktasu is fine. Relatively cheap, and the quality is fine for the price point. Nothing to write home about but no complaints either.

HOWEVER, the way they cut their sashimi is a crime. It looks like they could not remember if the order was for sashimi or poke and decided to do something in between. Why is it so thick and cube-y??? My friends ate the chirashi bowl and mentioned that it did not taste very fresh. Apparently there was an unpleasant fishy aftertaste that lingered for awhile after eating it. The bowl also had a crazy amount of imitation crab.

The cashier lady was very nice, so no real complaints about the service,...
