Panera Bread — Restaurant in West Springfield

After waiting a bit and it wasn't busy at all. Had one order in front of me. The staff making it, messed up, the mom was trying to ask him to remake but that didn't seem to be in the cards for them, her son finally said he would eat it the way they made it. Sad face. Since they weren't getting anywhere. Staff tried to say same soft white bread. Ugh not the point, they wanted what they ordered, not how you made it wrong. Mine came and looked in bag to make sure all was there, since the two behind the counter messed up last order and were clowning around. It seemed to be intacted. UNTIL I got home, 20 mins later. They made the wrong sandwich. Tuna? When I ordered Turkey, avocado blt, completely different and priced higher. Maybe they should pay more attention to orders. This was not for me but for my kid who had been sick and hadn't eaten since yesterday, now had to eat something that was way off her radar, since driving back and trying to get the correct sandwich would take too long. Tried to call store, rang and rang and no anwer. Just disconnected. Guessing everyone was still clowning around. I rarely go there since they are very expensive for just ok food. Well it will be a very long time if I ever choose to go back...

For the 2nd time in a month I am sorely disappointed in the quality of Paneras product. Though I love the taste of some of their food, I stayed away for a while due to the prices.

A couple of weeks ago I decided to return and indulge in a salad and cup of soup. No protein/meat on my salad and only a ‘cup’ (not a bowl) of soup and an iced tea. I nearly croaked when the bill was close to $25!!! No sit-down service obviously, which I’m fine with but honestly, I’ve had better and more substantial meal with service and tip included at many other places.

Today, eating on-the-fly and having very few choices, I returned to Panera. I ordered a bowl of the ‘new’ Thai Chicken soup. Even though it was served in a bowl, the contents barely reached a third the size and when I couldn’t find the chicken, staff told me it’s cut up in small pieces. Still I was hard-pressed to find any. All this for $9 plus!! Seriously?!?!

I know prices are rising everywhere but this is ridiculous…

So disappointing and not the worth the cost...

There was a promotion going on this month where you could get a free half salad or sandwich with a provided code at checkout. 2 times during the promotion I forgot to mention the on going promotion to the cashier and ended up paying for the half sandwich I ordered! They said they can't do anything after the fact. Well if someone already included in their order, the half salad/sandwich....why not mention that there is a promotion going on?? I'm guessing they are hoping people don't know about it. I can see maybe not mentioning it if it's not part of their order already, but 2 times I could have gotton my half sandwich free if they had just reminded me of the promotion. I knew about it, I just forgot. They apparently think people can afford to eat there daily or something, because the manager on duty said "the promotion ends on the 31st, so you can get it next time". Not very good customer service not to be able to compensate for the 2 missed sandwiches I already...
