Sets the bar for pizza and local run business. How can you not feel wonderful after getting what is one of the arguably best pizzas in the twin cities with plenty of the typical and a few unique (cashews??? - a must try) super fresh toppings, the dough is a thin, but perfectly balanced that comes out that firm with the perfect chewiness to let know you have just the right amount of crust, but not steel hard or thst wispy, brittle, flaky that seems to evaporate before you can swallow a bite like most chain thin crusts. This pizza is all about the the sauce and toppings though. The sauce is a yummy tomato based sauce with just the right amount of zing to bring those super fresh toppings together into a delectable meal or two or three! Who doesn't live living on cold pizza for a few days? The family run business is a staple of West St Paul and the estimated 30 mins to get your pipping hot pie of perfection is at least 7 mins shy of what it takes so you get there with plenty of timeto chat with owner and other patrons and catch up on local events and maybe a bit of gossip. During the summer months in they have live music and a sort of ad hoc car show in their lot on Thursdays. You can get a take and bake pie, if you want to try your own hand at cooking it, but it's hard to compete with there oven and what is clearly a deep expertise of a pizza oven that delivers a consistent evenly cooked pizza every time. Bring cash and an appetite. The pizza is super affordable and well worth the take out only (except those Thursdays). Remember, get there a little early and enjoy the conversation and get caught up with the local happenings! You'll forget all about the 3' of snow about to come sliding off your roof and that you are less than a mile from the hustle and bustle of downtown St Paul and wonderful cheer of the Pizza Shop where it always warm and cheerful and you can get a great...
Read moreI don't have words to describe how amazing and delicious Chopper's pizza pies truly are but I LOVE his pizza and the amazing fresh ingredients that always are used in the perfect proportions at The Pizza Shop. I live close by and don't mind driving a few blocks or having to pay cash for my pizza. Sure the delivery service that competitors offer can be convenient but as far as I am concerned there is no completion. The Pizza Shop has the best pizza for the best price in all the land hands down and if you haven't tried his pizza, do it... Now!! Oh and you should also know that Chopper is the owner/operator, and has been an outstanding member of the community longer than I've been alive. During the summer months he hosts a classic car show at his Shop every Thursday night which is a really great time and very kid friendly and very cool. Occasionally there is live music which has been outstanding and adds another level of awesome to these events. So there you have it, if you want good pizza in West St Paul the only place to get it is The Pizza...
Read moreNot only was the pizza 🍕 phenomenal, but the service was exceptional as well. The ingredients were insanely fresh. I don't think I've ever had such a good green pepper on a pizza. Same goes with the Canadian bacon we had in the pizza. We also got a pizza fries that were nothing over the top, but just the perfect balance of garlic and cheese. When we walked in we were greeted by the owner, who was super friendly. And another customer walked in and gave him nothing but compliments because she overheard we were new. We ordered and came back and probably still had a 5 minute wait. The owner, Chopper talked us up, had a lot of laughs and learned some history and a little about himself. And then he gave us some complimentary lighters (Pretty sure a discount too). I was incredibly impressed by both the service...
