We went here after searching for Vietnamese in the area. This place was rated 4.6 stars here so we though it should be good. When we first arrived it was strange to us that every one went in to the restaurant next door. Pho Cali was nearly empty. Regardless we still entered trusting Google reviews.
The waitress greeted us with not so much energy, she does not seem happy at all that there are customers. We ordered our food and waited. The food was not too bad but it is not the best. The waitress sat in the corner playing with her phone not borthering with clearing a table that a couple used and had left. When we asked for a pair of scissors so we can cut the food for our son she raise her voice in an angry way and my wife actually have to go to the kitchen to ask for them. The customer service was not 4.6 stars and we would not come back here again.
If you are in the area I would suggest you check out the restaurant next door. The locals all seem to go to that one. We went to that one for a tapioca and the staff seem to be much more friendly and the food seem to be...
Read moreThe restaurant is clean and looks new inside. It wasn't very busy when I went in. I was the only customer, but two more couples and one family (Vietnamese--I heard them speaking) did come in while I was dining with my daughter (they have high chairs--that look like they need cleaning). I ordered Pho Dat Biet, spring rolls with pork and shrimp, and (to go) their rice vermicelli (bun tom thit nuong cha gio). There was only one waitress working at the time, but she was attentive without being too overly attentive. It would be nice if the wait staff was more knowledgeable about the food because any Asian restaurant will ALWAYS have customers asking what is in a dish before they order it. I asked her about the egg rolls on the menu and asked her what was in it. She listed off some vegetables. I asked her if there were bean thread noodles in it and she said there were none. (My rice vermicelli dish came with an egg roll which did have bean thread noodles.) But I still gave her over a 15% tip because she...
Read moreAmazing 4.9, 2nd best pho in Utah. Broth - 4.9 - this broth is delicious and rich with flavors and spices. It has a bit of a bite and came out a little hot give it a minute tonight cool off. This broth is a little more oily than others. Meat - 5- I love the different flavors and textures of meat in pho including the tripe. I got the 20, the House Special, which has the whole array of meats sliced rare round eye, well done beef, brisket, fatty brisket, tendon, beef tripe, and meatballs. A great pho’s broth is the star. Noodles - 5 - Pho is made with a rice noodle not a wheat noodle. The noodles don’t get soggy. This is important because of the way I eat pho, I spoon the broth till almost all the broth is gone and then eat the noodles and vegetables. Service - 5 - The service is kind and timely.
I will definitely be...
