Unfortunately we will not be back. This is not the first time we’ve experienced terrible service but our previous trip was late night so we wanted to give them another try. We attempted to dine-in Sunday around 11:30-noon. Obviously they were busy, so there was a 20 minute wait. No problem. We were finally seated, it was another 10 minutes before our waitress took our drink order. Another 15 minutes until we received the drinks and our actual food order was taken. Several patrons have gone and now others are being seated. We started to notice people that had come in after us receiving their actual food. About 30 minutes we waited until finally our waitress came back by and told us our food would be out shortly. We asked what happened and mentioned the others that were seated after us have received their meals and she gave a terrible excuse of there being a large party that needed to be taken care of first. That party was seated well before we were and there were other waiters handling their section. We waited another 10 minutes and still no food. Mind you we had 3 breakfast meals and a chicken sandwich and fries. We asked if we could just pay for the coffees and juices we had consumed and just go. The waitress was apologetic however the excuse and handling of the situation was terrible. Eventually some of the food, not all of it, came out as we were waiting for the check. The food that did finally arrive was missing half of the meal and the other was incorrect. The manager decided to finally come over and gave an excuse of food being cooked on one grill versus the other and apparently everyone else’s food was on the main grill and ours was on the other and it was backed up. When we told her that was a terrible excuse she then went on to say she really didn’t have an explanation as to what happened and she apologized. She did offer to comp the entire meal and box it up but again, that would have required more waiting because we were still missing an entire meal and the rest of the other two meals and my meal would have had to have been remade. We had already waisted 2 hours practically and we were starving at this point. We paid for our drinks and left. Never again. I honestly think the waitress didn’t put our order in. She never wrote anything down which is why the orders that did arrive were wrong. Had she just been honest, told us straight up she hadn’t put it in and gave us the option to wait or not, we would have been understanding.
Update: As of 8/26, I have yet to have anyone follow up with me on this incident. What is the point of asking us to follow up with these links you provide in response to our reviews if nothing is going to be addressed or done? Waste of time just like this ihop. Don’t waste your time folks responding to replies from “the owner,” you’ll get a generic email and then nothing. More of my...
Read moreI have been to this ihop at least 25 times and probably spent close to $1000 including minimum 18% tips for the waiter or waitress even though half of that amount is usually food to go. This ihop has just lost a customer for good. After ordering a 3 egg omelet with cheese and mushroom, I got what looked like a 2 egg omelet with one kraft single slice on top and 4 tiny mushrooms. I didn't feel like complaining so I just ate it, plus I wanted to get some food for my wife. I ordered a Cali turkey melt with fries and said I'm still really hungry, I'd like an extra order of fries. She brought out the bag. I checked inside and saw one sandwich and one container of fries. I called her back and said I'm sorry but there I ordered an extra serving of fries there are only the fries that came with the sandwich. The story goes on way too long for a Google review, but it included the waitress getting berated in the kitchen by a cook or manager so loud that the entire restaurant could hear, a manager telling me nope you got two orders of fries (in one medium size container?) and walked away (the waitress did apologize and I felt bad for her), and when I came home the attached photo was the $13 turkey melt! My wife called the restaurant and the manager (he said his name was Jeff, and when she asked for his full name, he said "it's just Jeff" and he said "is this about the guy with the fries (like I committed a felony for daring to ask about it)? He then proceeds to tell her that he wants to make the customer happy, yet 2 minutes later says that there's nothing he can do about it but to call Ernest tomorrow morning (isn't this guy the manager?). He then proceeds to tell her that he's cutting costs (or I've been ordered to cut costs). That explains everything, I guess, including why I got 2 meals of lesser quality than a neighborhood McDonald's for $38! I do feel bad for the waitstaff as they generally have always been pleasant, but whoever owns our manages this restaurant should shut the place down if this is the experience and paucity of food they are going to give people (including some guy in the kitchen screaming at a waitress and trying to make me feel like I'm cheap). By the way, the folks at the table behind me looked at me as I was going out and said they felt sorry for me and that trying to pawn that off as two orders of fries was ridiculous ... and that's without even looking at the "turkey Cali melt" which is supposed to have turkey and a four cheese blend. Am I the only one that barely sees a pathetic amount of "turkey" and zero cheese?). So I might not be the only customer you...
Read moreIf I could give zero stars I would. Today was my first time trying Ihop post covid and I was brought in by my sister for a "pajama breakfast". Well, I have a service dog who is a seizure alert. I will a thousand percent say the company itself is misinforming their staff of the ADA laws with service animals. It was such an embarrassing situation. Ive had my service dog for 2 years now and have never had an issue. We walked right in and were seated immediately by the host. As soon as we sat down we were approached by the manager, Shawn/Sean, who asked if there was a dog. I immediately replied that I had a seizure alert dog. He did not even see the dog, as my dog is trained to be at my feet without disruption. He immediately asked me for his certifications. I was puzzled and told him that I do not have any paperwork on me as I don't need it. Then notfied him that according to the ADA law he could not ask me for that. He wanted to continue to argue with me claiming some company policy and health department regulations blah blah. I asked him to bring it and let me read it. He brought it and attempted to read it to me but wouldn't allow me to read it. During that time, my sister contacted the police department and the manager immediately told us to leave the building till they arrived. Dispatch said we did not have to leave and to stay where we were till the arrived. When Officer Kilmer arrived the manager quickly went to speak to him before he got into the building. He claimed we were making a scene blah blah. Officer Kilmer came to the table and asked us what happened. He go our side of the story then the manager blurted out that I claimed to have a doctor's note for a "THERAPY DOG" that was the first time I raised my voice telling him he knew I never referred to him as a therapy dog and I distinctly told him previously that the rules he was throwing around applied to therapy dogs and my service dog doesn't fall into that category. Anyways, in the end the manager was on the phone with his higher up and ultimately gave him the go ahead to make his own decision if we could eat there and informed us of that while the officer was standing there. He also said that since they were private property, he didn't have to let us in. We decided to leave as at that point we were no longer hungry. I have never been more embarrassed. My serivce dog and I just flew across the country and back for my son's wedding and never had an issue...
