So .... yesterday my sister-in-law and I went off on one of our excursions. I was headed towards Northborough, so researched for a restaurant to stop at for lunch. A few came up - and I figured Ted's Montana Grill looked pretty inviting.
From the moment we approached the door - we knew it was a new experience! Wait staff opened the door to welcome us in! Then we were cheerfully escorted to a booth with a window (on a perfectly beautiful day). Our personable waitress was Merri ... and she lived up to her name. What a delightful conversation after we mentioned how impressed we were with the charming and comfortable atmosphere. She asked if it was our first visit and after we told her yes - she gave us a brief history and explanation behind the Montana Grill and how everything is made right from scratch per your order. Merri asked what we would like to drink ..... so, as usual, I inquired about Gingner Beer, like in a Mule..... but without the alcohol. She said no problem and off she went. I was treated to the "straight" ginger beer in the copper mug - minus the alcohol. Very impressive - first time for that! If the restaurant is willing to provide the ginger beer, they usually just put it in a glass or even just bring the can - so the copper mug was definitely a treat! After describing the offerings and preparation of all the meals (did I mention from scratch) - we both choose burgers. One naked and the other with bacon, onion and cheese. The rolls were like just out of the oven and the burger was probably the best ever! The French Fries were reminiscent of the ones my husband use to make by hand. So my sister-in-law and I ooed and awed through the whole lunch! I wish we had room for dessert because I bet it was to die for! I already texted my sons (one of whom has been there and felt the same way as I did - a restaurant the way they use to be). Going back that way the end of September and you can bet there will another luncheon at the Grill! I sure hope Merri is there to wait on us again! Oh - and if you decide to try it out! Ask for Merri and tell her...
Read moreWe made a reservation for seven people. We went on a Sunday night at 5:30. There was only one table in the restaurant a family. No one at the bar. First time at the restaurant three people ordered filet mignon beef. I ordered filet mignon every time I go out I have never seen one that looked like this like this it was not the color of beef it was a gray looking very thin tasted horrible. I wish I had taken a picture of it before they took it back. Two of us sent it back the third girl could not eat it but was reluctant to complain and ended up paying full price for hers. Her daughter reluctantly took it home for her cats because she wasn’t sure that it was good enough for them. I asked for something else to eat they brought me a hamburger which was horrible and I was unable to eat it The rolls were old and dry. The fries were soggy shriveled and cold. They did not charge the two of us that returned our filet for our dinners. We were never asked if we wanted dessert. Not one dish was removed from the table the whole time. We got our bills and every dish from every meal was still on the table. I used to be a waitress and that is unacceptable. Everyone of us had a problem with our meal and none of us would ever go back. We were looking forward to going out for dinner with friends for two days and we’re very disappointed. This restaurant was Westborough mass. Three of us were from out of town Maine, Connecticut and New York State. The restaurant was very understaffed I realize that Help is hard to find right now. The food took forever to come over an hour and the restaurant had only one other...
Read moreThis was our first visit to Ted's. First impression when we sat at the bar was poor. As a matter of fact we considered going across the street to Travolini's but their seating wait time was more than an hour. There were two bar tenders on, a male and female. We won the prize the male. He was rude and not very pleasant. When I asked for a particular brand of vodka he just stuck a bar menu listing the brands of alcohol available in front of me and said read that. When we were leaving the restaurant another guest said the same thing to me that the male bartender was one of the rudest they had ever met. We very frequently go out and eat at the bar. Doesn't sound like that will ever happen at Ted's. When we arrived at Ted's we were told it would be a 30 minute wait. After about 50 minutes a member of our party went to the desk and was told they had already called our number about 15 minutes earlier. Apparently they were having a problem with our pager. We were seated in about 5 minutes after that, On a positive note when we were finally seated our waitress Sharon was extremely pleasant and my first experience with Bison was extremely pleasant. However, once seated we had to wait a long time for our drinks and when our waitress returned she apologized for the delay and said the drinks would have been quicker if she had made them. Apparently she also had issues with the bar staff. For the rating above our waitress service was excellent but the bar...
