My boyfriend and I went to a dinner/comedy show special. We'd never been here before, and the price felt pretty reasonable. The atmosphere was nice. I think it’d be better if it were just the two of us; I was disappointed that we had to sit with others because we’re both introverts, but it wasn’t intrusive. They seemed to have a plan for how to handle the evening — I think they mentioned this was the first time they had done something like this and that they weren’t fully prepared for the night. Apparently, the pizza side got slammed, and the kitchen got backed up, which caused our dinner and the show to be delayed.
Our server was alright but perhaps overwhelmed because she was somewhat inattentive. We ordered a few sodas, which took quite some time to arrive and were flat, but once they noticed, they brought fresh drinks. The group seating also caused problems with our bill, but they fixed it immediately and said that if there were any issues, we could just call. The food was pretty good — I had bruschetta, salad, and chicken parm with pasta (I gave the dessert to my boyfriend, so I can’t speak to that). The bartender was somewhat curt when I ordered a soda after waiting so long for the waitress, who was noticeably losing her patience with the evening's mishaps.
We weren’t fans of the comedy, but that’s not the restaurant’s fault, of course. Overall, we had a nice evening — a little longer than we expected — but we understood the situation was out of their control. Unfortunately, the restaurant isn’t local for us, so I’m not sure if or how often we’ll be back, but I would recommend the food to anyone who is local. I can’t speak for the service due to the series of unfortunate events that night, but I’ve chosen to believe it’s normally better based on...
Read moreOverall an excellent experience. I reserve the right to come back and edit this later though! I ordered a bunch of stuff to go for other family members.
The pizza is huge, as you can see from the pictures. The brown and white pizza is a stuffed barbequed chicken pizza my daughter ordered. She was able to eat ONE slice. Lol
I got the two slices, plain and the "Captains". I could not finish the second slice, and I am a big eater!
The waitress was very helpful and patient. The staff were all friendly.
The place was very clean.
The atmosphere was surprisingly nice! It had a little outdoor seating area and very nice ambiance. Nice art on the walls, both murals and pictures. This seemed more like a stand alone restaurant than a place in a "strip mall". I think they far outclass the rest of the tenants here.
My daughter has raved about this place for quite a while, so I brought her today so I could try it.
Back to the pizza.... for some background, I was a pizza man when I was younger and ran a pizzeria. I am VERY picky. The first thing I will say is this is the best pizza I ever had in Pennsylvania. But that's a low bar to overcome. The crust was excellent. Excellent. The cheese and toppings were fine. The sauce was the only thing I was not a huge fan of. It's not that it was bad, and this is COMPLETELY subjective of course. It was the weak point to me for sure. That's the only negative I have, and it's really not negative. Just a...
Read moreI came in on a dead, rainy Thursday. The staff seemed completely spaced out. I ordered 2 slices. One had a bunch of toppings and was somewhat large, the other was smaller with just pepperoni. Both were way too salty.
I find out later that the larger one was a "superslice" for $5.50, which I guess was almost worth that. But the pepperoni one came to $4.50, which was explained as a $3.50 regular slice PLUS $1 PER TOPPING PER SLICE!!!
I had mentioned I'd like a drink from the bar when I was served my slices. My choice was to either get up from the table and move to the bar to order a drink, or wait til I finished eating and then go the bar. It was apparently too much work to walk a drink 10 feet across the room.
When I paid for my slices, the girl didn't ask if I wanted a drink, even though I had obviously not moved to the bar while eating.
I was the only customer and there were four people working behind the counter. Maybe you were trying to leave early? No reason for your service to be like this and no reason to give me an attitude when I questioned the bill. Over $10 for 2 slices is NOT the average price for the area.
You had plenty of staff to help one customer, the phone rang maybe twice in the half-hour I was there and only two people came in...
