Honestly, pretty upset at this place. I rarely, if ever, leave bad reviews. But this place was so brutal that I had to. My girlfriend and I went here because they have 4.6 stars and hundreds of reviews. Everything from the service to the food was brutal. I only gave two stars because the woman who answered the phone was unbelievably kind and personable.
We waited a while before the waiter even came over. When he did, we gave our orders and asked for more bread. The bread never came. Then, our two appetizers came out about 20 minutes apart. The coconut shrimp was tasteless and overcooked to the point where the shrimp was tough and chewy. The "Asian style" fried calamari came out after and it was just not good. I'm not sure if they forgot to make it "Asian style" and just tried to salvage what they served by adding some sort of soy sauce on the side? But there were tomatoes over the oily, undercooked calamari. They gave us a marinara and that soy sauce. The calamari seems to be the same for the classic, buffalo and Asian style but they just give different sauces on the side. For an "upscale" place, that's pretty lazy.
We finally got our entrees and I couldn't have been more underwhelmed. I ordered the New England Broil and my girlfriend ordered the scallops. I've never not eaten at least most of the plate. I was starving and left 95% of the food. I tried a piece of each fish (flounder, lobster, scallops and shrimp) and just stopped. The shrimp felt like a well-done steak and nothing on the plate had flavor. Everything was dry to the point where you could barely chew it. And there was no sauce or anything to make up for the blandness.
It tasted like they put all of the items on a tray, sprinkles unseasoned panko on everything and overcooked it in the broiler until it was almost inedible. I am not a picky eater. I could eat dirt when I am hungry. This place was such a disappointment.
The waiter also asked if everything was good. I said, "honestly, no, everything was pretty bad". The waiter said "ok sorry" and left. He didn't ask why it was bad or offer to take anything off the bill. I don't expect anything to be taken off the bill, but an offer of an item taken off or a new item would've been nice. It would show they care about the quality of their food. The waiter wasn't personable and seemed overwhelmed. He also had no clue what any item on the menu was. We asked questions about items and he gave very vague nondescript responses. We still tipped 20%, but the service and food was some of the worst I've had.
I wouldn't go back for a free meal,...
Read moreTonight my wife and I wanted to try a new restaurant and we’ve never been to Limani Seafood Grill. We wanted to go because we could go and have a nice dinner just the two of us without our son who was out at a school dance. First I want to point out we Love Greek food and we love Seafood also so this was a great option for us. We were greeted by a very Nice hostess who I believe maybe one of the managers/owners. She made some great recommendations which we got the appetizer she suggested which was the seared, Calamari, Octopus, and Shrimp. It was very tasty and my wife and I enjoyed it very much. Now for our entrees. My wife got the stuffed flounder and she loved it. I tried some of hers and it was great. Now my dish which was the Scallops and Caramelized Apples with vegetables on the side. I normally don’t complain about food and just deal with it, but in this case I’m going to give my honest assessment. When I saw the scallops on the menu I was happy because it was one of my favorite seafood dishes to order that I almost always get if at a nice restaurant and it’s on the menu. Though not a super huge fan of Caramelized apples I figured I can deal with it as long as it is scallops I would be eating. I’ll comment on the sides first. The Spinach was fine and nothing wrong with that, but the carrots had zero taste to them and no sauce. I guess it’s healthier for me to eat them that way, but they would of been better if they were sautéed or something better than just being boiled. Now the scallops. They were way too overcooked and chewy for me. My wife tried one and thought the same thing. I knew we were going to get Deserts so for me the Carrot Cake and my wife got the Crème Brule. They both were great and we left on a great note to go pick up my son. We would go back again, but next time I would get something else like the Chilean Sea Bass or Swordfish and I don’t think it would be an issue. Our server was great and very attentive even though he had another table with a very large party and they kept him busy. Over all a great experience and sorry that I had to be honest...
Read moreSo we came here today for lunch. It was my GF’s father’s birthday. He selected this place because he had a good experience last week. Unfortunately, today was the opposite experience.
Not only did my Salmon dish never make it out of the kitchen, the waitress lied and said it was almost ready and will only be “2 more minutes”. One of the other dishes arrived with hair on it, so we sent that back too. Well, 15 minutes later, everyone finished eating their dishes, and I went to the waitress to ask how much longer for the salmon that never arrived…instead of being apologetic, she gave me an attitude and said, “it’s almost done, so you don’t want it???”…And never said anything about the other dish that needed to be cooked again.
I was so surprised by the attitude when all I asked was, “How much longer?”.
I didn’t appreciate her attitude, and just walked back to my table. The owner’s wife came out and asked what’s wrong. I told her about how I was still waiting for my food and how the other dish arrived. She went back into the kitchen confused, and came out to apologize, while we could hear her husband yelling at the staff. If this is how you treat your staff, I’m not surprised that the waitress lied. If she was honest and said she forgot, I would have understood.
I told her that I was not happy with the kitchen because the restaurant was not busy at all! Almost empty. The owner’s wife came back out from the kitchen and threw the waitress under the bus. She said that the Salmon order was never submitted. The worse part was that the waitress NEVER apologized to us at all! Apparently, she made a mistake, forgot to enter in my dish, lied about it, then the owner ripped them apart verbally and the whole restaurant heard it…
I didn’t even ask for the food to go…we honestly felt so annoyed and uncomfortable that we just wanted to leave.
I’m in Westfield very often, but I will not be returning to this...
