Greetings,
I did not appreciate the service and food I received at Aladdin‘s Eatery today in Westlake. First and foremost, I would like to talk about the service. When I first called the restaurant today to ask if cash was an acceptable form of payment the young woman I spoke to was very short and abrupt in terms of her tone and immediately hung up the call without asking if I had any more questions and she said goodbye. Second, I ordered my meal via Toast Tab at exactly 5:28 PM. It said that my order would be ready at exactly 5:43PM. When I came to pick up my order, I was informed that my order was not ready due to one of the items not being finished yet. I ended up calling the restaurant again and they informed me that my order would be ready in 5 to 10 minutes. I did not receive any updates via Toast Tab informing me that my order was ready. When I arrived at the restaurant, I received my order and I made sure everything in the bag was accounted for. At the restaurant, I touch my food briefly to make sure the temperature was still hot. It was not. When I came home, I found out that my food was freezing cold. I ordered grilled meat and the meat was cold. I do not recommend the service at this particular restaurant. Although the food was seasoned, service is everything. How you treat your customers is everything not only via the phone, but in person as well. Customers are an integral part of a business. You never know who customers know, and they could easily refer someone to a restaurant or deter them from going to a restaurant. Prayerfully, the service at this restaurant improves...
Read morePretty good food, and affordable prices much like other Aladdin's locations. I have to give a lower rating for the Crocker Park location, though, because my food is never quite as good as it is when I order the same items from other Aladdin's in the area.
My wife & I used to order from the Crocker Park location because it was so close to our home. The shish tawook roll has been overcooked and dry every time we have ordered it, across a span of several months. The baklava cheesecake was underwhelming, the final product ending up less than the sum of its parts.
I was once charged $2 extra because I asked for lettuce to be added to my chicken shawarma roll. This had been a request when I placed an online order. I was not informed that I had been charged extra until I arrived home and noticed the receipt total was more than what had been quoted. For lettuce? And the real insult here is that the amount of added lettuce was so small it was barely noticeable. I have NEVER experienced this at any restaurant in my life. This experience caused me to always think twice before ordering this Aladdin's again. I have rarely revisited this location since it happened (Fall of 2019).
That said, it is an Aladdin's so they still have several good items. The fried cauliflower has been consistently good, as has the kibbie. The previously mentioned chicken shawarma is always good here (it's kind of hard to overcook chicken thighs like they do with the shish tawook chicken breast tenders). Hummus always tastes great here. The rotational selection of desserts is usually really good.
Overall, this location is my least favorite Aladdin's in the greater Cleveland area. I have been satisfied by their food many times, however this is the only location that has also left me dissatisfied more than twice. Worth a visit, but only if it's the...
Read moreHoly freaking cow. This place was awesome. Came in later (2030 ish) on a Wednesday night. We had never been before, so asked to check out the menu- we were greeted immediately. Checking out the menu, tons of "vgn" options to choose from (animal product free). Prices are very cheap, especially for the area, so I assumed small portions (wrong). Our server was Kaitlyn. She was prompt, nice, and knowledgeable about the menu. She was friendly, but not overly, and really helped have a great experience with her expertise. Assuming those small portions, we went with a regular hummus- a rather large size for just two. Extra pitas were brought, and some fresh extra ones for what was taken home with us. We didn't know about the hot sauce, so she brought us one to try. Legendary. I used way too much the first time, and it was spicy- but by time I realized how spicy it was, the heat dissipated. It was very flavorful, and not too strong or over the top. For my meal, I went with the Baba Roll with black olives. The olives were clutch- the wrap was great (crispy and warm without being too crunchy or over done, and insides were just right), but the flavor was very flat. To be clear, not bland but a bit plain. My "vegan" eating companion wasn't vegan today (don't get me started...) but they enjoyed their carni wrap. For two of us, stuffed to the gills with delicious food, we would have been out under 20 if someone didn't get a drink.... At one point the manager stopped by to check on service, and we commended her for the food and service. She informed us about their business a bit- fresh made daily, local ingredients. I couldn't be happier with the service or the...
