Huge bummer smh. Famous Dave’s is one of my favorite barbecue places and after my husband never trying it and me trying to convince them being a barbecue person himself we went and spent $108 that we did not have to enjoy dinner with our three kids after a long weekend working. Let’s start with walking in. I am a very bubbly person. I was very excited to find out that they catered and potentially partnering with somebody right up the street to do weddings. I was very eager to ask about it, and the gentleman was not eager to answer the question. I then asked for change for my $20 bill so I could leave a $10 tip on my carryout and he looked irritated that he had to go find a key to open the register. Nonetheless, he went and got the change driving home I thought about what could be going on that he seemed like he was so irritated and that I hoped his day got better. Anyways I walk in the house. I open the food. I can’t wait for my husband to try the greens because it’s my favorite part of the meal and he has a huge critic, but I know he will be pleased because famous Dave’s greens and mac & cheese are the best. Open the bag no greens. OK I’m irritated but no big deal. My husband comes running over and he goes. Don’t forget you have celiac disease. You can’t touch the cornbread anymore. They’re all mine and he goes and runs and looks in the bag no cornbread. We were short one mac & cheese the brisket as per usual was mouthwatering and delicious, which is why I gave two stars. The burnt ends were so fatty you couldn’t eat them and were so dry. I was so sad and so disappointed because where I felt $108 was still well spent and we would be able to eat for a few days turned into a ton of food missing from the order less than pleasant customer service huge bummer for what I was expecting...
Read moreI called him to make a pickup order. I asked about something they said was discontinued so I asked the gentleman on the phone if there was something he could suggest. He said no look at the menu. I said well what would be comparable to the flying pig which is what they discontinued and he said I don't know look on the menu there's descriptions is there anything else. I said no hung up and looked on the menu. There was something it was a meal for two a little bit less but more money than the flying pig. So I called back and I asked for what I wanted I paid extra for center cut ribs I told them I did not want the rub on it just the barbecue sauce. We picked it up. The half a chicken look like it was a Cornish hen leg The wing had no meat on it and the breast was clearly cut in half The only thing that looked recognizable was the thigh. There were eight ribs cut apart two of them had a little bit more meat on them the rest of them had barely any. All of the ribs had the rub on it along with the chicken It was very spicy and I did not like it. The french fries or chewy not cooked all the way through I did not try the mac and cheese my husband and son said they liked it I don't care for jalapenos in my mac and cheese. The only thing that I thought was any good were the corn muffins and they were fantastic! The coleslaw was also pretty good. I will not be going back to famous Dave's I was the taste tester for a banquet that we're having for a nurse that's retiring at work needless to say we won't be buying food for 100 people from them. Not only was the food not how I asked for it but they were rude and the gentleman that answers the phone should not be allowed to do so. This was the famous Dave's...
