This is a neat little spot — and I really do mean “little” because it’s a very tiny space with too many tables and each one is constantly full. But it’s obvious as to why: service is quick and friendly, the food is tasty and the drinks are creative, strong, and delicious.
However, if you come on a Sunday afternoon or evening as we did, choose a backup option for your order as chances are they’ll be out of whatever you wanted first (in our case, the seafood rolls and Brussel sprouts). I ended up getting the Margherita pizza and while it was absolutely delicious, it’s not structurally sound (thicken your crust or thin your mozzarella slices, please) and while the four giant basil leaves in the center make for lovely presentation, it’s not practical for eating. I ended up tearing and redistributing the leaves. Not a big deal at all, but still annoying to me. When it comes to food, I’m more for function than form lol. I really did enjoy the pizza and highly recommend overall, though. The house-made sauce is awesome!
Our server was great and I regret that I can’t remember his name; very attentive, very apologetic when he had to come back twice to tell us they were out of whatever we ordered, and just a total sweetheart.
We did not have to wait long at all for a table as we happened to walk in just as a table was leaving, so just long enough for the staff to clear and clean the table. Unfortunately, it’s one of the wobbliest tables I’ve ever sat at (the left window table if you’re inside facing the door). I also don’t like high tops in general as I have legs on the shorter side, so this just made a generally bad experience worse for me. Hopefully they can fix it right away. We also had multiple flies buzzing around us constantly, but it’s summer and we’re by the door, so probably not a whole lot you can do about that. Still unpleasant.
They have a dizzying amount of cocktails to choose from and I had a hard time deciding as they all sounded so interesting and good! I ended up getting the berry mule and that was divine. Bright, tart, refreshing, well-blended. No single ingredient stood out among the others and none of it was overpowering. Perfect for a hot August afternoon!
Altogether, despite my caveats and personal nitpicks, I’m happy Westminster has a place like this and there are definitely food and drink items I’m excited to try, so I’ll...
Read moreLook... as a local, I really want to like Liquid Library. This is such a cool spot, in a convenient area of town. I have been about 3-4 times. I love their expansive and delicious drink menu. Their food is hit-or-miss as its either cooked to perfection or swamped in oil. My latest experience was the worst I've ever had at any restaurant for two reasons:
I sat at their bar, 10 people max. After taking one drink order, the bartender spent the rest of their evening chatting with a couple co-workers behind the bar and fixated on a few regulars. The rest of us could hardly get a word in to ask for service. Any time I needed anything, I had to ask for it. When I first sat down, I was not greeted. Instead, the bartender placed a menu in front of me and didn't say a word. Eventually, she came back and asked what I would like to drink, and came back ten minutes later with my drink (it seemed like she forgot). After about 30 minutes, I finally interrupted the bartender and asked to put in my food order. The appetizer and entrees came out at the same time. My drink sat empty for about 15 minutes before the bartender finally asked if I'd like another round. I declined and asked for two boxes and the check, which she only brought one box and no check. The other bartender printed it out for me. Again, I would like to reiterate that the bar was not full, and there were two bartenders working on a Wednesday night. Had it been busy, I would not be mentioning this in my review.
I watched a server on expo use her bare hands multiple times to garnish and handle food items, then deliver these plates to everyone at the bar and some tables in the restaurant. We do not have to connect many dots to see why this is a big health issue.
The kicker to all this is that BOTH owners were there. If they were not present, I would have written this off as an unfortunate, one-time event, but their presence tells me this is their standard, not the exception.
I have long wanted to bring friends and family here, but I think I'll take my business elsewhere in Westminster, where I know I will get honest, quality-controlled and...
Read moreI've eaten here twice now and this may be my new favorite place in Westminster. The two food fired pizzas I've had were both very good. I especially loved the peach pizza. I love wood fired pizzas and have been looking for another pizza place with more variety than the typical fare, and this place definitely brings some unique options. They are sized large enough for a few people to share, especially if you get an appetizer, too. The hamburger ball things we got as an appetizer were surprisingly delicious. All the cocktails I've had were very good. I especially like the key lime coconut one. That thing is heavenly. I feel like they don't skimp on the alcohol, either. The hours vary a little by day, which we found out when we tried to grab lunch again on Sunday, so take a quick look before you go. If you go on evenings and weekends, there is a free parking garage (I think it only charges during working hours during the week) a very short walk away, and I recommend that over trying to navigate Westminster metered street parking. Plenty of free parking there and the restaurant has a cross walk by it. The service was good and attentive the two times we went. There was plenty of available choose-your-own seating when we went on the weekend, but the tables are pretty small to accommodate all the pizzas, drinks, side dishes, etc. and the tables are placed fairly tightly together by necessity, with hard seats, with not much room for purses and things, so I wouldn't describe the place as "comfy" but the good food and drinks make up for it. I found the pricing very reasonable. They have outdoor seating, too. I will definitely become a...
