Tuk Tuk Thai Eats - Westminster (Same Tuk Tuk Family) — Restaurant in Westminster

I have been going to Tuk Tuk for years both at Westminster and in Lakewood. I can't speak more highly to the quality of the food and service which are why my family and I keep returning time and again. I have seldom found a Pad Thai (the only thing I ever really order) that I enjoy more. Perfect mixture of veggies and protein, sauce, and noodles, and the spiciness is always perfect! They also always make it gluten free when requested. At the Lakewood location the green curry chicken is out of this world! (Please bring it to Westminster!) In addition the Tuk Tuk mix and the chicken lo mein are also incredibly tasty. I love watching the chef in Westminster cook the food, he is obviously very skilled! The service is also fantastic. I have eaten in a few times and was treated kindly though the majority have been pick up orders, which the staff have always promptly given to me upon arrival and checked me out quickly with a smile and catering to any needs I might have. If I ever have to wait for my food they always offer me a free drink while I wait. The service is outstanding to say the least. One time our orders of chicken lo mein were lacking in quality as the noodles had not been cooked properly. When we voiced our concerns they gave us two free ones on our next order. For our next order they honoured our free chicken lo mein dishes (despite it being at least a few weeks later) and called us, before I had even returned home with the order, when they realised that they missed one of our appetisers. They went above and beyond and delivered our missing appetiser promptly to our door to correct the mistake! Mind you we live a good 20 minutes or more away from the location. I came here in Sunday 11/18/2018 around 2pm-3pm. Visiting the first time with my husband and was excited we found a Thai Bistro. We ordered the Tuk Tuk Mix, Fried Duck vegetables. Food came quick nice and warm. It was delish and was really impressed with every single bite not mention the perfect Thai Iced Tea. That day we had a very respectful and caring server who was just perfect. We had a pleasant experience. But ...

We came the following week Saturday 11/23/2018 from 12:30pm -1:05pm, we came in and there was a different server. The server didn't look happy to be there. She saw us sat us down and just threw the menu onto the table. We were like okay you are a bit busy we get it. Server later on decided to take our orders and I asked for Thai Iced Tea, TuK Tuk Mix and beef and broccoli. Server handed us two iced thai and we said we ordered Thai. She changed it. After that our entree got served first and mentioned that we also ordered the app and she said "yeah, I know. It's not ready". We thought why would you serve an appetizer later than entree. We had to wait for our appetizer to come and eat that first and our entree got cold meanwhile.

Aside from our service, the server kept jumping back and forth to different people and just sounded like she wanted people out. "Do you need a box" No "room for dessert" No "Okay then the check" and kept coming back saying it. Generally, people like to eat and talk.

I do like the food but not the service. I'm hesitant about coming back if this server is here

I have been there 2x in the past week with a party of 6. In both cases the food was reasonably priced and fairly good. The service however was seriously lacking, to the point of amusing. The staff were all quite nice, but both times, clearly inexperienced with no management oversight. Orders were mistaken, range of appearance of our meals was literally over an hour. If took about 15 min for anyone to come to the table to take drink order, and was tough to get anyone's attention for subsequent beverages or anything else. The bill never came...had to chase down waitstaff to pay. Dishes not cleared as new courses eventually came out. Even though there were very few tables occupied, they never managed to clear the table next to us, which was deserted and dirty before we arrived, and was never cleared in the approximately 1 1/2 hours we were there. This place definitely has potential. The food was good for the price, and the were very pleasant, but they clearly need some experienced management to pull things together! They were so oblivious as to how to run the restaurant, that they didn't seem to even recognize how bad things were. Most places would have comped dessert, drinks or something off bill, but it didn't seem to occur to them. We saw a number of other tables and to go orders experiencing similar issues during the time we were there. I hope they can...
