Standard Market Grill — Restaurant in Westmont

I have never written a review before. have been a regular customer for years at Standard Market, always leaving a tip even though I oder at the counter, get my own water. But in the last year or so the food has gotten worse, more expensive and the server today was awful. The coffee we ordered came so late I forgot we even ordered it. The waitress dropped part of our order and I feel she took it out on us. She was rude and disrespectful. The cashier told me I could get “ scrambled eggs on the side” of my avacado toast but when the meal came there were none. When I asked the waitress, she said, “we don’t do that.” I explained the cashier told me the scrabbled eggs would be on the side. Apparently she went in and checked and told me the Cashier said, “she never said that” (scrabbled eggs on the side) practically calling me a liar. When I asked to see the manager she said.. he can’t come outside “ he is too busy” (when did the managers stop this?? ) Did she make that up? Is this what she was told to say everyday? When we asked for more coffee, she rolled her eyes and never came back to the table. I honestly have never had a younger person speak to me in such a hostile, rude tone ever. All three of these employees must not have not been trained properly to respect the customer..maybe goes higher in the company. The manager ( when I did go inside) asked how he could make this better? Teach respect?? Not call your customers liars ? They lied to me. They should have brought that stupid scrambled egg out immediately.. you are a restaurant.. it was breakfast. Not that hard to do. How can you work in the restaurant industry and not know how to treat a customer with respect? Excuses and no one taking responsibility, completely rude. Is this the culture at Standard Market now? It used to be my favorite place.....

First, I love both grocery shopping and dinning at Standard Market, but I really do miss the Naperville location that has permanently closed. For me, the overall customer service experience at the Naperville location was much better. My husband and I have eaten breakfast at the Westmont location for the past three Saturdays, he's big on breakfast. We both wish that Standard Market's restaurant Bakersfield located across the street from the Westmont location yet offered brunch because we like the ambiance there rather than the sometimes chaotic scene in the eating area at the market. For the past three Saturdays, we continue to receive the same server that rushes by to drop our food off and never asks if we would like cream or sugar with our coffee.
