The restaurant is located in Westmont in a shopping center with other stores including a Indian groceries store and as such finding a parking space is not easy.

The restaurant is small with some space set aside for bigger parties and the number of tables are limited. There's a wait to be seated and we reached there at peak time and waited a good 10 minutes. The waiters and the manager are preoccupied and we had to draw attention to an empty table to get seated.

The menu is newly printed and has a lot of choices in different cuisine of India for those familiar with it. South Indian cuisine is limited to dosa varieties and other rice based dishes.

The masala soda is good for those who like the traditional "jal jeera". There's no soda in the drink itself but a variety of Indian spices that aid in digestion and general health.

The onion rava masala dosa looked good when it arrived with holes that I mentioned in my review of A2B's same item but soon turned into a nightmare. The chef must have forgotten about the dosa as it was desiccated/dehydrated beyond imagination to the extent the masala has become dry and the onion had caramelized. I was joking with my family that the dosa was hard and crisp enough to chop up vegetables. I could not even eat half of it. The sambar is good and a decent quantity but of the chutneys, only the tomato chutney is very good, the coconut one is ok but the third one of fried lentils is insipid, though the quantity is once again like the "tabbaruk" or prasad you get in your places of worship. At $12 it's certainly not worth it. A couple of ready-made Gits rava dosa mixes for half the price, from the next door Indian store would have been a better experience for my taste buds.

Anyway the family enjoyed their items and it seems like my experience was the only sour one. Perhaps the illinois culinary world does not want to satiate my penchant for a taste of real...

Absolutely abhorrent service. We had chosen this restaurant after about an hour of trying to find quality looking vegetarian indian food in the area, as my boyfriend(27) had been raised on it his whole life and had the best sense of it. Not only was our friend who went into the restaurant for pick up after ordering via doordash, treated like an inconvenience, but my boyfriend was also treated poorly by staff when he ALSO went into the restaurant after over an hour of waiting in the car for our order. In total from time of order, to actually recieving our food we had waited 2 hours, and not once was there a genuine apology for the repeated mistakes, treatment, or lack of communication. The staff treated us like we werent even people, literally ignoring us while we all patiently waited. I and the friend who went inside have both worked in food service for years and are closely aquainted to how stressful it can be. We are incredibly patient people when it comes to food service. We wanted to experience quality food of a different culture than our own while supporting a smaller local business, and we were given the most disgusting treatment any of us have ever experienced over something so simple as 3 dishes + garlic naan. Selected by my boyfriend for us to try. I want to rate it so much lower, and I wish I were just being dramatic, but BEWARE of this establishment. Sadly youll be treated significantly better by any underpaid worker at a chain restaurant. Such a massive disappointment and so disheartening especially as a first experience with indian cuisine.

The food itself was okay. Good flavour but luke warm, and our order was wrong. Boyfriend said it was subpar compared to what he's had in the past, and he has actual...

My bestie and I were so excited to eat here based on the great reviews. Unfortunately, we could not have been more disappointed. My friend has some food allergies which she told the waiter about, even handing him a piece of paper upon which was written what she couldn’t have to ensure that he understood. On that short list was peanuts. He recommended the masala dosa. It was great…except that there was a side of peanut-based chutney! She has a mild reaction. He never apologized. We ordered some plain dosa and were served the exact same thing as the masala dosa but charged a dollar less. When we repeated that we only wanted the dosa and nothing else, they put the chutneys aside. Ooookay. Hmmmm. So, a plain dosa is $11.

Simple things seemed to be really hard for our waiter. My friend asked for water several times, and finally, out of desperation got up and got it herself. We ordered gulab jamun. It was delivered to the wrong table, sat there until the people told their waiter and, realizing his mistake, he took it right off their table and put it on ours!

Then, there was the matter of the tea. We had also ordered masala chai which we never received, asked for it 3 times, were ignored but then were charged for. When we pointed it out, the waiter asked if we wanted him to take it off our bill?? What? Um, yes, please. No one apologized for anything. Not once. That would have gone a long way. We were so unhappy when we left, we couldn’t get ourselves to leave a penny more for our way overpriced meal. No, we won’t be going back. I hope my friend doesn’t end up in the ER later tonight. If you have any sort of food allergy, be aware that this place does not take...

We visited this restaurant on a late Saturday afternoon when it was fairly busy, but we managed to get a table without any wait. We began our meal with tomato soup, which came with croutons and was reminiscent of the classic Indian tomato soup—creamy, rich, and bursting with flavor. Following the soup, we ordered aloo kachori as an appetizer, which turned out to be the highlight of our meal. The kachori was perfectly crunchy, and the accompanying aloo sabzi was cooked to perfection, offering a delightful burst of flavors. We also tried the crispy chili baby corn, which, while decent in taste, didn’t quite live up to its name in terms of crispiness. For the main course, we ordered chole chur chur naan, and we were thoroughly impressed by the naan’s texture and the delicious chole that paired perfectly with it. Additionally, we ordered paneer tikka masala, which was a rich and flavorful curry that brought back memories of the vibrant street food of North India. The aloo kulcha we tried was equally impressive, with its soft, flavorful filling. Despite the restaurant being understaffed with only one waiter and one server for all the tables, the service wasn’t overly slow, which was commendable. To round off our meal, we had a taste of the badam halwa, which was simply delightful. Overall, the restaurant offered good Indian food with some outstanding dishes and decent service. It’s definitely a must-try in the area!

I had 5 star review for this restaurant before. We always had dine-in food here before and it was really good. Our recent experience of first take out order was really bad. I have attached order receipt. I wonder why would you not taste your food after cooking. It's not that you are making it separate for each order. Chana, Sambar, Chutney, masala, all these are made in bulk. Taste it before you sell it! Review of 2 Masala Dosas and Sambar: Masala or red chutney in dosas were super salty. Even sambar had so much salt in it. Almost 70% of this went into trash. Review of Cholay (Chana) Bhature: Bhatura were super thick and chana was super dry. We were hungry so we pushed it in our throat somehow. Chana Bhatura used to be our favorite food at Shree restaurant. Review of Samosa and Chutney: Samosa was fine but chutney had very less salt/spices in it that made it bland (Looked like all the salt was used in Dosa and Sambar. There was none left for this Chutney) Review of Malai Kofta: Its curry did not taste like Malai Kofta curry. Review of Paneer Makhni: Curry was good (only reason I still have 2 stars in the review) but it had very less paneer in it. May be 4 small pieces of paneer. If I would have known before I started eating, I would have added more paneer at home. Review of Medhu Vada and Idly: I did not eat/taste it.
