I always love going to this location because of 3 things specifically.
The quality of the food The friendliness of the staff The bartender(s) ALWAYS ON POINT with the drinks (I mean ALWAYSSSS!!!!)
Couple of things I wanted to point out from my experience yesterday. My wife and I went out of town for the weekend to visit some long time friends and I wanted to go to the Bonefish that was there but we just didn't get the chance to because of life circumstances. We decided to forfeit the one that was out of town and go to this specific location. Our hopes and dreams were crushed when we walked in because they were so packed. The polite waitress explained that there was a banquet going on so the wait would be awhile and the only tables that were readily available were high tops and it's a "first come, first serve" basis. My wife and I don't really mind high tops but we preferred the booths but all of those were taken so we made the decision to go for the high tops anyway.
Once we sat down, my wife had to go to the bathroom so I was at the table by myself. Another party of people came in and sat next to us. They were about a family of 5 or 6 so the high tops started to fill up real quick. Once my wife was back from the bathroom, she sat in front of me and we were ready to order. Since the family that was next to us started getting a little intruding, the waiter that sat us down offered to sit us at another high top where it would be a bit more space. We accepted and the waiter politely took us there.
Once we sat down, we already knew what we wanted for appetizers, Bang Bang Shrimp and an order of the Crab cakes. They are the absolute BEST!! Never, and I mean NEVER, EVER EVER get rid of those!!
We took a look around the restaurant and it was indeed packed but the ambience and the friendliness of the staff was still on point despite the lack of vacancy.
I would like to give a HUGE shout out to Beatrice. From the moment she came to our table and took our orders to the time we left, she was a darling. Such a gentle and warm heart. She took care of us and made sure we didn't need anything despite the restaurant being so busy.
I ordered the shrimp and sirloin (medium well) with the rice and seasonal vegetables as the entree and my wife ordered the mahi mahi and shrimp for herself with garlic whipped potatoes with the seasonal vegetables as well along with the crispy potatoes (she started drinking a bit so she was overindulging a bit). Also, never get rid of that chimichurri sauce. My wife would die for it!! Everything was great and you couldn't really tell that the kitchen was busy because everything came out with great timing.
Before we left, I put in an order for bang bang shrimp to go as well as those crispy potatoes and Beatrice had put in the order for us. We also had put in another order for another round of drinks (I had the coral reef punch and she had a long island ice tea). While we waited for the to-go order, we were talking and lost track of time so my wife had asked about the drinks because we didn't get them yet. Beatrice went behind the bar and whipped them up for us. Just an absolute delight! While we were nursing our drink, Beatrice came over with some desert for us waiting so long which was so heartwarming. It was the drunken coconut pie. It was hot, sweet, crunchy from the coconut shavings and just delicious. I had to give her a big tip for her taking care of us.
I hope that this review reaches her and this restaurant and let you guys know to keep going. Keep up the quality of the food and the friendliness of the staff. The only ding I would say is that the men's bathroom stall door needs to be fixed but aside from that. Great place and I...
Read moreI’m disappointed to be writing this review, but my last visit warrants me being vocal about this experience.
My father made a 6:15 P.M. reservation for a party of 5 - the first time my entire family was back together for the holidays after a very rough year. We’ve been to this Bonefish location dozens of times over the years and usually have decent food with good service.
I arrived separately around 6:03 P.M. and asked if I could be seated early so that I could order drinks ahead of their arrival. Keep in mind, the restaurant was at about 15% capacity - open tables in every direction you could look. The hostess, who didn’t even bother greeting, acknowledging or saying “hello”, told me that I needed to wait for them to clear a table. While it made no sense at all given I could see every table was bussed and prepped, I was early for the reservation, so I said “no problem” and sat down to wait.
My family arrived at 6:15 P.M. on the dot, and once they approached the hostess, she took them directly to the table (one that was already bussed & prepped when I had initially arrived, essentially proving that me waiting was pointless). Considering the host & hostesses were all on their phones half the time, it was very obvious they had no intention of notifying me when the table was ready.
Now here’s where the situation actually warrants a 1 star review: as I saw my family enter and begin walking to the table, I was trailing them by about 15 feet or so, and I heard the host - a tall, light skinned male with long hair up in a ponytail mock my father as he passed, saying, “that’s a whole man right there”. Being that my father is overweight, I was extremely offended that someone in public - especially an employee of the restaurant - would be so disrespectful to a patron.
Fortunately, my father didn’t hear this scumbag’s comment, and as much as I wanted to make a scene, I decided to hold my tongue until he was seated at the table, so that I could sit back and ask to speak with a manager. I hoped that he would handle this appropriately, and given that it’s the holidays, I wanted to “be the bigger person”.
The manager came out shortly after and I explained the situation to him. He seemed to be receptive to what I said, apologized to me for his choice words, and said that he would speak with the gentleman “later”.
My seat was right near the host stand, and given that I was furious, I watched that same man who mocked my father the whole night sit on his phone, uninterrupted. Could the manager have spoken with him later in the night? Perhaps. But I didn’t see him approach him at all during my visit, and the manager didn’t even offer to comp an appetizer, the bill, etc.
As someone who started out as a busboy in the restaurant industry, I couldn’t believe how poorly the situation was handled. The poorest customer service and even worse, piss poor handling of an already awful situation.
Besides eating a dry steak with a subsided appetite at Bonefish, I made the mistake of not taking the situation into my own hands and putting good faith into management. Last time I’ll ever do that, and also the last time I’ll visit this...
Read moreAte here a few days ago. Nothing outstanding, not worth the money. Went there for late lunch. Husband and I had gift cards so we decided to have a nice day out. We were really thankful for the gift cards, because the prices on the menu were outrageous, and the portion sizes were off. I always thought sides are not supposed to be bigger or take off the focus of the main dish. Also, the bread served seemed overcooked, having a really crunchy crust that had actually cut my lower gum which I realized later. Never had such crunchy bread served to me. Most of the time it's served soft and warm. Not enjoyable and seems a waste.
I ordered Ahi tuna, which seemed to be the most inexpensive item on the menu at $19 with pan asian sauce. If you go to the online menu, there are no prices listed, and for a good reason. As a side I had coleslaw and rice, and ordered a &8-$9 cocktail drink that was mainly ice. Husband just ordered a burger with fries. When the food came, the fish was about the size of a hockey puck, but thick. It was hidden by a big bowl of coleslaw, that is about twice the side of any coleslaw side I ever had. The rice was maybe half the amount of coleslaw, or less. I've had Ahi tuna before, even cooked it myself, and the steaks I've cooked before were nice sized steaks about the size of my hand. I told them medium rare, and when it came it was so tough on the outside I had to cut it like beef steak. What should have I said? Rare? It tasted somewhat dry, not juicy at all. As for the pan Asian sauce, it was a bit underwhelming. Through the first bites it was okay, but then tasted odd, and saw that the underneath was coated with mustard and that I had inadvertently pulled a piece of fish into a big glob of it. I assume the yellowish stuff was the pan asian sauce, which was supposed to be teriyaki and soy sauce. I tasted none of that. I HATE mustard, and to put mustard on fish?? It was gross, but I scraped it off along which what seemed to be a good amount of pepper and ate it despite, with the mustard now overpowering all other flavors. The coleslaw took me the longest to eat and it was okay. Nothing great. My husband said his burger was fine, but he says it left him feeling bloated and unwell.
This place isn't bad, but I feel it's a rip-off and you pay for the experience. You're made to feel like you're ordering high quality food prepared in a fancy way, and if you don't like it you're not classy enough. As someone put it, it's a place for baby boomers to feel special (small portions, high price with matching aesthetics, Ego stroking). I'll stick to red lobster. Much bigger menu, better prices, and with the drinks you're not paying for the ice, you're paying for the cocktail.
I will say though the staff here is very nice, and our first experience was good, but I don't we'll come here again unless we have money to burn.
Update: had light dinner as we still felt "full" from lunch. Just some spaghetti. The next morning we both felt a bit bloated and skipped breakfast, just had a light lunch. The after effects of the dinner made us feel bloated and a...
