Mia's Jewelry of Weston has to be the worst experience I've ever had in repair. My girlfriends bought me a Pandora bracelet for $180 and rather than keeping it, I asked my girlfriends if it would be okay to have my wedding ring repaired instead. My husband has recently passed away and I wanted to continue wearing my wedding ring. Two thing were wrong with the ring: the band was split and a stone had fallen out. I had to bring that ring back 3 times because the stones kept falling out. $230 later - Daniel the owner told me that my ring was too old and that I had to replace it with a new one. I never heard of such a thing. Why would I replace my wedding ring? He said that I had to pay another $210 to have the whole thing re-tipped and then he couldn't guarantee that the stones wouldn't fall out. OMG! Of course I didn't have him do any more work on my ring!!! But to make matters worse - in the process of getting my ring fixed, I also asked him to repair my Gucci watch that my husband bought me when we were first married. $150 to replace a part - fine - pricey but it's Gucci. The hands on the watch fell off twice!!! - and when I finally picked it up for the 3RD TIME, the face was cracked. Daniel says to me that it's an old watch - the face was already cracked. OMG! REALLY???
$480 later - I have a ring that I can't wear because the stones keep falling out and my broken watch now mechanically works but the face is broken BY MIA'S. WARNING!!! DO NOT SHOP OR REPAIR ANYTHING AT MIA'S JEWELRY SHOP IN WESTON!!! I try really hard to be in good terms with all people, but I'm doing society a disservice by not sharing my VERY BAD...
Read moreMy daughter brought them a watch to adjust the strap (only two links had to be removed), and they charged her almost $50 because they changed the battery when that wasn't what she was brought in for. Not only did they not provide a payment receipt, but they also didn't provide the battery they were supposed to replace. I don't recommend them at all. Very poor customer service.
UPDATE Thank you for taking the time to respond. However, I find your message both surprising and unprofessional.
My daughter experienced rudeness and a lack of care during her visit. She stated that she only needed the strap adjusted, yet she was charged for a battery replacement she never requested. Regardless of whether you had a busy morning, that does not justify a lack of attention or customer care.
Your comment suggesting I am “unloading a personal problem” is inappropriate and offensive. A customer expressing dissatisfaction should not be belittled or treated with sarcasm. Saying you "don’t appreciate customers like me" is a very unfortunate way to run a business.
You mentioned a refund, which would be appreciated, but I believe you should not have charged such an amount in the first place.
I hope you take this situation as an opportunity to reflect on how to better handle professionalism, which is essential, especially when addressing complaints from the public. Acknowledging criticism indicates a desire to improve rather than a refusal to...
Read moreI don't normally leave reviews but I know that this place is under new ownership so definitely worth giving some public praise for this store. My mom is getting to that age where she asking my brother and I what of hers we'd want for when... you know. Anyways, we didn't know what to do about her jewelry so upon deciding to sell it we started looking up jewelry stores in her area. I wasn't sure what to expect but we felt the experience here was overall pretty exceptional. Santiago took the time to go over everything she had which made us feel like he was properly evaluating every piece. He was VERY patient with us and was just a genuinely kind person. Their offers seemed fair so it worked out nicely for us. Would revisit this store first for anything I'd...
