First time visiting Sushiato and I enjoyed the courses but just know that some of the dishes are small and very pricey.
Ordered:
Seaweed salad. The salad was good. I hate when you go to places and its either too cold or watery. The salad here was perfect with good flavor. Typically about $8 to $10 at other places but $13 here.
Miso soup was the typical miso soup, which is very hard to mess it up. Good amount of tofu in the soup but it was $10 while most other asian influenced or inspired places charge $5 for vegetable based soups. Even so they are about $7 for a soup with protein.
Ohanu Roll which is spicy tuna, krab chips, avocado and cream cheese with scallions, tobiko and sweet chili sauce, fried. (riceless) The roll was very good but for $26 it was definitely over priced! Especially for the portion you receive (8 small pieces), compared to most sushi rolls at different locations which are about $15.
Pork fried Gyoza was crispy with good portion of meat. ($12)
For dessert we ordered the Pan-fried Nutella and dulce de leche ball with vanilla ice cream. It was very good and is exactlly as described. It's a ball of nutella with a fried coating and a ball of dulce de leche with a fried coating. ($15)
They do have a happy hour that has b1g1 rolls which ends at 7pm. I did not come during those hours so I am not sure the size of the rolls or the pricing. I might come back but I am not sure if it would be often, as other places are more affordable for people to go...
Read moreI have been ordering at this restaurant for a long time just because the food is good, but it’s always the same issue, orders take way too long. Their excuse is that they are too full on Friday nights and their recommendation is “to not order on Friday nights if you don’t want to way too long.” The answers the staff provide are always rude and it just shows that this restaurant does not care about providing quality customer service. There is no such thing as a GENUINE apology at this restaurant, they sound like robots saying sorry in a passive aggressive way just because they know they are expected to. If the restaurant gets too many orders on the weekends, the solution should be to have more staff, not to expect customers to be okay with irrationally long wait times. Especially if this is a problem you deal with on a regular basis, which according to your employees it is, you should have already brought your attention to it and found a solution for it. YOUR CUSTOMERS’ EXPERIENCE SHOULD BE YOUR PRIORITY, THAT IS WHAT KEEP YOUR BUSINESS AFLOAT. Your food is good, but it is way TOO expensive for such a terrible customer service, definitely not worth it. I genuinely regret giving my money to such careless people who have literally no interest in improving their customer service. Personally, I will not be buying sushi at this place ever again and I recommend you...
Read moreI have to give this place to Stars based on the service alone. The restaurant itself is very clean and the staff was very friendly but the service was slower then it should have been. We arrived at 7:55 p.m. and our food was not presented to us until almost 9:00PM. our server was very kind and kept coming by to apologize about the slow service and long wait times. It was very thoughtful, but both of the tables next to us got there food at the same time we did and they came in much later. as far as the food goes it was not bad. It was an Asian fusion sushi restaurant which is what we expected when we got there but the roles were not very well made. They were lumpy and small. we did however receive the house salad called the sushiato salad complementary to try while waiting. I have to say that that was the best thing we had all night. I would go again to give them a chance to have better service.
My rating system consists of a 3-star being exactly what you expected and neither good nor bad. A 4 means something was extra special and a 5 means you were blown away. A 2 star rating was disappointing and a 1-star...
