I'm not one to write reviews, I'm a server and understand the industry but this was a weird experience I just had to. After reading other reviews, food is great but the service can definitely use some improvement. My husband and I were visiting my parents from out of town and decided to meet up with a friend who chose this spot. The décor is adorable and very aesthetically pleasing. One of us wanted lunch food while the other wanted breakfast, so they have something for everyone- it was an instant yes to come here. We arrived earlier than our friend so we headed inside to put our names down since it was Sunday and around brunch time, so we knew it would be busy. As expected, it was very busy! The front lobby or waiting area isn't really a "lobby" it was a host with an iPad taking down names at the corner of the bakery display. It was so crowded that we couldn't even get a foot in the door, literally. My husband held the door open as we were trying to make our way in, but again we could not step in it was so crowded. The other host began to yell at my husband saying "Sir, can you close the door? You need to be in or out!" and we began to explaining we can't get in and we're trying to put our names down. We get our names down and take a seat outside. I asked the host for a menu to look at while we wait and she seemed rather annoyed by me asking. After a few minutes go by they came around and passed out fans to guests waiting, which was a nice touch. We got seated about 30min later at a table outside. We asked if it would be possible to wait for a table inside, since it was hot and only getting hotter. The host said no that's not possible and walked away! We were shocked at her response and wasn't sure if there was some miscommunication, we were fine waiting more. We let it go and just sat at the table outside. Our friend came and sat with us, by this time it's been 10 minutes and we haven't even met our server. While waiting we did see a few tables empty inside and it didn't seem like they had people waiting anymore. Our friend asked another server who kept walking by if he can grab our server since we have been waiting. Another few minutes go by and she finally comes to greet us. She was kind and definitely helped improved our experience. She informed us about the $1 charge water which was fine then took our drink order. We understood they were busy but it looks like they had a few more empty tables inside now and wanted to see if we could move to one of those. She said she could ask, which we were fine with (I'm pretty sure she never asked). A few minutes go by and she comes back with the drinks and to take our orders. When asked about the tables inside she said "No it's not possible". Again, I'm a server so I understand it's not up to the server on tables and where guest sit. I understand those empty tables could have reservations, or for those waiting in the lobby. The rush was dying down and it didn't seem like they were on a wait anymore. Now, this could be me in my head but I noticed EVERYONE inside was dress in a more formal attire. Sundresses, polos, etc. Now we were about to head back home so we were dressed comfortably for a long drive and this was a last minute decision. I noticed everyone sitting outside was dressed very causal. Workout sets, t-shirts, etc. Again, could be my own assumption. By the time we were done eating and paid for our checks no one ever sat at some of those tables...Just very odd. We ordered the bread basket, which came almost immediately but without any plates. By the time we got our plates the bread was cold. Food came out quickly and was delicious! It made up for the long wait. I ordered an Iced Matcha Latte with Oat Milk and it was great. Overall the food is the best part. While rather on the pricey side, I feel like the service should be...

I have to start by saying, this place is gorgeously decorated and beautiful for some picture spots. Great detail went into their overall design of the restaurant and know how to get those brunchers in the door.

Unfortunately for me, that is the only part of this restaurant that really left a good impression on me.

Let's start at how incredibly difficult it is to get a table here. I believe Miami location has reservations while Weston is walk in? Restaurant is extremely tight and loud indoors.

I decided to come here for brunch/lunch on a Wednesday afternoon, thinking it should be less busy. It was still packed!

Menu looked pretty standard, so I decided to order a mocha latte, braised short rib eggs benedict and my waitress sold me on their upcharged truffle fries. When my hot latte arrived ten minutes after I ordered it, they served it in a glass with no handles.. . I think presentation was nice, but I couldn't hold the glass without burning my hand. How does that make sense? Even waitress mentioned it was impractical. I had to ask for a regular mug to drink it, even after 10 minutes of waiting for it to cool down.

When food arrived, it looked pretty good, fries needed salt and pepper, when I went to use salt and pepper shakers, neither of them worked. They had I guess moisture in them or were empty but the tiny little eggs used as salt and pepper shakers could not fulfill their purpose lol so I couldn't add salt or pepper to anything. It was also very difficult to get my waitresses attention since she was soooo busy with a packed room and what looked like 2 servers total for the whole place.

The eggs on my eggs benedict were extremely runny and undercooked, you know when the white part of an egg is clear on the inside because it hasn't cooked through? It personally grosses me out, but that's how they were served. In hindsight, I should have asked them to cook them medium... But I wanted to see how everything came out since it was my first trip here. Braised short rib really just reminded me of "ropa vieja" that you can find at any latin supermarket cafeteria, very small portions. Overall, food was "okay".

Then I asked for an order of 6 macaroons to go, I believe they were 6 for $12. They are not normal sized macaroons, they are tiny!!!

My total for 1 person, one entree, a hot drink and to-go order of macaroons was $50!!!! I understand eating out costs money, I always give a standard 20% tip, but in my opinion, my money could have gone much further elsewhere.

My suggestion for a much more delicious brunch with fantastic food, service and ambience is Bachour Restaurant, several of them in Miami. So good and actually worth the cost. Bartender in Doral location is a genius!

I have to say extremely underwhelmed by Little Hen. If you like going to places for pictures and for people to think you have money lol, then I guess this...

Went with a friend on a Sunday morning. No wait to get in (although we apparently arrived just in time because on our way out we passed a crowd, and we heard the hostess say the wait was 35 min). My observations, for what they’re worth:

Ambience: I’ve seen reviews raving about Little Hen’s decor. It’s meant to be cottage-core charming, and it is…mostly. There are cabbage roses on everything, couches instead of regular banquette benches, upholstered chairs at the tables. Unfortunately, the place is located in the corner unit of a shopping center, so two of the four walls are floor to ceiling plate glass, and the ceiling has all of the duct work and supports exposed. These details clash with their intended vibe, IMO, but also make for a very LOUD atmosphere. So, kind of a miss there.

Service: Meh. We were there around 8:30a. More often than not, when you go out for breakfast the person seating you takes your coffee/beverage order. This was not the case here. Not exactly a deal breaker, but we had to wait for our server (not ridiculously long but longer than I thought it should take for the first contact) to take our coffee order, who before doing so let us know that they don’t accept any cash, and that we weren’t permitted to stay there longer than 90 minutes. Also, we were asked if we wanted water (from a chilled carafe that I’d be willing to bet contained tap water), and when we said yes, were told that it’s $1 per person. She left the bottle on the table. So that bottle cost us $2, but if we’d been a party of 4, it would have cost $4. Gotcha. Other than the pretentiousness of all that being a little off-putting, the service was ok. Not Johnny-on-the-spot, but not slow, and the food came quickly enough.

Food: The menu has some interesting choices, and the quality and flavors are good, but again pretension rears its head, a bit. My friend had the Carbonara Omelet, which is as good as it sounds. Yummy, really. The price is $17 which is pushing it, IMO, for an omelet. I ordered the avocado toast. At $15 it seemed a little crazy, however I happen to love avo toast and wanted to try it. The description sounded terrific: toast with avocado smash, hard boiled egg, sun dried tomatoes, feta, pepitas. Yummy! And it was good, but it was a SINGLE slice of toast. COME ON NOW.

Overall, I would say that Little Hen is a swing-and-a-miss for me. I think what they’re trying to pull off, as well as their pricing, would work better elsewhere, maybe in a cool artsy spot like Wynwood. Not a shopping center in Weston, across from...
