I just went to Pauli’s Deli and Bagels in Westport location to get a chicken salad sandwich at 2:20 - the signage says they are open until 3:00. When I went to place my order, the person behind the counter said no more sandwiches are being made because they are cleaning - I asked again thinking I misunderstood and again she mumbled no more sandwiches are being made b/c they are cleaning. My question to them is, why post your hours as closing at 3:00 when you won’t make a simple chicken salad sandwich at 2:20 which is well before closing. Most food service businesses clean AFTER closing not during business hours. Very very disappointing and I will no longer go there. It is a shame because I work down the street and we will get lunches there for the staff on occasion. Unfortunately that will no longer happen - there are many other deli’s in the area who I am sure will make sandwiches during their hours of operation. If you do venture into Pauly’s Deli and Bagels in Westport, my best advice is get there at least 2 hours before closing and MAYBE you’ll be lucky enough...
Read moreVery sorry & disappointed to report that my favorite new bagel 'go-to' will no longer receive our business. The problem is value, more importantly 'honesty'. We've ordered breakfast faithfully now for over 2 months for the whole family, loving the bagel sandwiches. One morning my son, who orders cheese on his bacon, egg, cheese bagel told me, 'there's never cheese'. I told the owner, respectfully. The problem, apparently, is that 'Pauli' places a smattering of cheese almost imperceptibly, on the bagel, yet they charge fully for doing so. This morning I noticed that the stated charge I was given had increased on my ApplePay. I asked why and was told that the customer pays for the credit card charge. Believe me, it's not the 60 cent charge. Along with their refusal to provide cheese while charging fully, especially after my speaking with the owner, and not being upfront about extra credit charges, we shall no longer be doing business with our 'favorite' bagel...
Read moreI came here because of the amazing reviews, and since I was in the area, I decided to stop in—and I’m so glad I did!
When I entered, there was only one person inside. The place was very clean and surprisingly bigger than it looks from the outside. There’s also a small parking area outside, which made it super convenient to pop in. I was immediately greeted by Carlo, who was super friendly and patient since it was my first time there.
I ordered the steak, egg, and cheese on a toasted garlic bagel, which came with garlic butter and black pepper—so good! I also got a toasted everything bagel with scallion cream cheese. Both bagels were hot, fresh, and tasted amazing. The ingredients were top-notch and worked perfectly together.
On top of that, I couldn’t resist grabbing some desserts: Oreo cake, a Halloween black and orange cookie, and an M&M chocolate chip cookie. All were delicious!
I highly recommend this spot and will...
