After a spontaneous stop to visit the boutique next door, my sister and I passed Annedore's window. Gorgeous truffle and macaron trees adorned the window and counters and I had to go inside for a closer look. Once inside, the beautifully staged fall and Halloween chocolates and decor provided amazing eye candy. I had never tasted a macaron before while my sister had tasted many - most in her travels to Europe. We got a small assortment of flavors and colors and headed home. Now I know that I love them for more than their showy good looks and reputation. These were exceptionally good - perfect both in flavor and texture. Our favorites were the seasonal favorite Pumpkin and delicately flavored Lavender. My sister said these were truly the best she'd ever eaten. Read moreTerrible experience. Terrible customer service. Have purchased chocolates on several occasions in the past but on my last visit I purchased two chocolate turtles. Quite expensive for turtles so I expect the best. In case you don't know what separates turtles from chocolate caramels is the pecans of which there were none. If i wanted chocolate caramels I would have ordered them. I went back inside and brought this to their attention and the counter persons response "oh well some are like that". Zero accountability, No offer to refund my money or replace them with others, just looked at me blankly. I left the turtles on the counter and told her she could keep them. Haven't been back since. The flavor of the chocolates is uncomplicated - pure milk, pure dark - just exquisitely prepared and presented. But everyone in the family was thrilled with everything I brought home for the stockings, from the yummy yummy meltaways (the family favorite was the dark sea salt caramels) to the spectacular nonpareils. It was hard for me not to eat what I had brought the family....
