Five Guys — Restaurant in Wheaton

I have tried most of the new burger places in the area including Smash Burger, Rev Burger, etc - but by far this was the worst experience I've had with any of them.

The store was freezing inside when I visited, and there were not too many people there. I was able to immediately place my order for a cheeseburger and small fry. I'll note that when you place your order, the person at the register will tell the grill how many beef patties to put down.

I grab some of the free peanuts, my drink and sit down while they make my burger. At least its fresh!

Apparently though, the help isn't so .. helpful. Even though there were just 3 people ahead of my in the order queue, they somehow "lost" my order. It wasn't until 10 min that I had to ask what was taking so long, and only then did they remember me.

It took 20 min to get my simple order. Unacceptable.

The quality of the food was to be expected, nothing outstanding though. The burger was OK, but a bit big and messy. Because they rushed my order after I had to ask them about it, the fries were undercooked and not that good.

Give the number of other niche burger places in the area, I don't think I will be visiting...

I’ve been very disappointed in five guys. I’ve heard great things about five guys and decided I would finally try it. The ambiance in the restaurant is fine, a lot of yelling orders but it has a nice old diner feel to it. A bit cramped with tables and chairs very close together. The service was fine, but the burgers were extremely overpriced and honestly the burger I got was one of the worst burgers I have ever had. Even McDonald’s makes a better burger. It wasn’t juicy, there was barely any meat, and there was unnatural gristle on it. Even though it was an assembly line for burger it still took about 10 minutes to get my burger. I only ordered a shake, burger, and fries. It cost be $20. Why on earth would you need that much money for such a bad burger, a regular shake, and fries. I will admit that the fries were very good, but for $5?!?! I would not recommend. It seems like they were hoping their excessive topping would make up for their bad burger patties. The burger bun fell apart when I got half way through it. Please go to steak and shake instead. Even the long wait is worth it. A steak burger is 100 times bette than whatever five...

I live near by and have purchased food from this location three times in the last couple of years - so, not a lot.

Here's why I will not return: They've either given me the wrong food or forgotten part of my order. I went back the first time because I was still in the area when the shortage was discovered. Second time I was too far away. Third time I returned because I remembered the first two incidents and checked the order at the traffic light. The food is expensive and it usually looks like it's been stepped on when you open it.

The fries are okay - the burgers are always smashed and the bun is soggy.

If you're going to charge over $35 for three people to eat - at least check the order before you hand it over. Getting the order right is the least you can do. I nearly got shorted TWICE the last time I was there because the guy handing out the food couldn't be bothered to check the contents.

There are better options for a good burger that are not that far from this location with better accuracy,...
