As a recent newcomer to the area, I was excited to find a Starbucks near my new apartment, hoping it would become my go-to spot for my daily caffeine fix. However, my first visit to this location left much to be desired.
Upon arriving at the store, I noticed that the parking lot had barricades that prevented customers from directly accessing the drive-thru. Instead, I had to navigate around parked cars to reach the ordering spot, which was an unnecessary inconvenience.
Additionally, it seemed that the store's order-ahead feature through the app was inconsistent. Before leaving for the store, I was unable to place my order through the app, but a few hours later, the feature was available again. This inconsistency made it difficult to plan my visit and save time.
When I finally reached the speaker to place my order, the staff seemed unfamiliar with how to prepare or even take my usual order. I requested a shaken espresso with heavy cream, but instead, I was charged for an oatmilk espresso with brown sugar flavor. Not only was this not what I wanted, but it was also significantly more expensive than my regular order. Although the drink's flavor was not unpleasant, the overall experience was disappointing.
Since this incident, I have been frequenting the Dunkin' located across the street. Their products and flavors are consistent, and I haven't experienced any issues with their service. Until this Starbucks location improves its consistency and staff training, I will likely continue to choose Dunkin' for my daily...
Read moreI am writing this so that other people do not feel and go through what I went through. I ordered my coffee via the mobile app. In the store, a staffer called my name clearly. And now I had venti size iced coffee. I took it and tasted it. I found it was not my coffee. Then I checked the label it was written with a wrong person’s name. I asked that person to wait and check, no apologies at all, but just told me to wait. So I waited and now this lady asking this man as well. He handled her not like how he handled my issue. Unlike what he was telling me he immediately fixed her thing.
So, I asked him again why I was treated differently. He just told me that I made the mistake of taking a coffee with a different name, and he insisted he called my name. I don't know he's assuming that I can't hear English clearly or not. So, I felt subtle discrimination here at Starbucks. I DID CLEARLY hear my name, and I'm sure people around there heard it too. And these two names are starting with letters that are clearly distinguishable.
So, I'm a loyal customer of Starbucks; this is how they treat me?
Of course, I know that there are other friendly staffers who work hard for us there, But, I just hope the company or the manager trains the staffers properly, and this kind of subtle discrimination doesn't happen again. Why we have to feel this just to get the coffee in a peaceful Saturday morning? I know that it was Saturday morning, and it was extremely crowded and busy. However, this should not have...
Read moreWe’re veterans who were treated in a most disrespectful manner on Veterans Day at the Danada Square Starbucks. We simply asked the attendant for the free veterans’ coffee. She had us to repeat our request several times and pretended she didn’t understand our order. She then told us our total for the free coffee would be over $7. At this point we requested the manager. As we explained we were ordering the veterans free coffee and we were given a hard time, the manager raised his voice in defense of the attendant saying she is new. We didn’t buy it and we truly believe something else had come into play. We were not being confrontational and we believe requesting to speak with him was appropriate. As I explained to the manager, free coffee for Veterans Day is self-explanatory and it’s not on Starbucks’ menu. He yelled “I’m a veteran, too.” We’re clueless as to why this needed to be said. In conclusion, we should have received an apology and the manager should have completed our order instead of raising his voice and speaking with us in an irritated tone. The attendant attempted to hand us the coffee. For personal reasons, we declined. ALL veterans should be treated in a most respectful manner. We’re not discouraged. We plan to return next year with more veterans who look...
