When I entered Fabowlous located in the Nottingham Commons, I was greeted with a warm welcome and beautiful aesthetics. It’s a place where you can eat your smoothie bowl and feel fancy. That is where it stopped for me though.

I stood at the counter and viewed the menu. I was looking for a bowl or smoothie with a little protein because I was a little hungry. I was informed that the only protein they had were eggs(those are in the salad), so I moved on.

I then asked about the smoothie bowls and saw a green base smoothie bowl. It came with sliced kiwis along with some other items. I am not high on kiwi so I asked if I could swap them for blueberries. I was told that I could but there would be an up charge.

I asked why and was told that any addition to the bowls would be subject to an add on charge. I just wanted to swap one fruit for another (a common practice at most establishments I’ve been to), so I didn’t understand why I would have to pay more to do so. I also looked for a build your own bowl option, but it didn’t exist.

I know the business is new so I hope it takes in these considerations as they grow. Protein options and customization would be...

I'm in love! I'd been curious about this place since I first saw the signage a few months before it opened. Just saw that it was open tonight and I rearranged my entire trip to the grocery store to stop by. It was worth it!

Ambience: The restaurant is beautifully decorated, has a spacious layout, and uses a laid back playlist that encourages conversation. It has a lounge vibe with comfy couches and low tables and pretty dining tables and chairs. Beautiful artwork lines the walls.

Staff: The young men behind the counter were very welcoming, professional and helpful.

Smoothie Bowls: The smoothie bowls are made of healthy ingredients (I've had some that were more like desserts), come in a variety of sizes, and are priced similar to the chain spots (so support small businesses, y'all). I got their version of the green smoothie and all I tasted was fresh deliciousness. I was so excited that I started eating it before I could take a photo (sorry).

I'm definitely coming back here!...

This place is hands down one of the best juice and açaí spots I’ve ever been to! Everything is super fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with quality ingredients. The açaí bowls are packed with toppings and perfectly blended — not too sweet, not too icy. The juices taste clean and refreshing, and you can really tell they use fresh produce. On top of that, the staff is always friendly, helpful, and quick with service, which makes the whole experience even better.
