Bark Coffee — Restaurant in Whittier

I went in this morning with my boyfriend to find a quiet place to be on our laptops. We had already gotten coffee from a neighboring shop, and were almost done with it. We went in with intention to buy some food and do work there. We were surprised when walking in how bleak and dead the atmosphere was. It was dead quiet with no music, and only about two customers looking sad in separate corners (neither of them had food or coffee btw) and when we walked up to the counter the lady was not friendly at all. We asked her questions about the croissants and food and she was quiet and went into the back to check the inventory stock. Firstly if you're out of certain food items maybe put a sign on the displays so it doesn't look like you have a full pastry case when they were actually out of stock of everything we asked for. Then after we found a pasty that wasn't out of stock, she finally decides to say "No outside food or drink." Why waste our time in the first place? We were about to be paying customers and hang out in your business which is GOOD for business so it doesn't look so sad and empty inside. So you would rather not have our money or business? This just seems like very bad business and customer service. She could've said that from the beginning, and been nicer and more welcoming, and we would've finished our coffees and hung out there, still as PAYING customers. Truly a weird experience and sad that our society even as a paying customer you can't even go anywhere anymore to hangout. Not sure how this place ever gets business, will never go in...

Nice place to come and have coffee and very good menu. Simple and straight to the point best part of all you can add and mix your own flavor choices from a list which is must easier then choices from a hundred different drinks and asking what each one has. Deffinitely will be coming back for some good lattes and coffee. Also the inside is well and simply decorated and the seating is out of the way of walk way so people dont get crowsed by where you...

Their brewed coffee is really good. The vibe is a lot different from coffee shops I usually frequent. It’s much quieter here and sometimes feels like a library. There’s a lot of seating and outlets everywhere. The WiFi isn’t the fastest so that’s something you need to consider if you want to spend some time working there.
