That’s how we roll. @uptownazabu has dozens of mind-blowing dishes on their menu.
13119 Philadelphia St, Whittier, CA 90601 If this isn’t your next date night spot, wyd? We got: - Gorgeous sashimi presentation. I literally stared at this thing like, are you for real? And the fish was absolutely incredible - I know everyone says good sushi is fresh, but this is fresh. - Rose cocktail and table side smoked old fashioned. They have a full bar of off the wall cocktails like this made with extreme care and dedication. You can sit at the bar if you want, too, and it’s gorgeous. - Prime NY Steak. For the non-sushi people, the presentation on this again is pretty spectacular. It sizzles for the longest time. - Sashimi pizza. I think this was actually one of my favorite bites of the night. It’s a must order with tuna and yellowtail atop ponzu aioli with truffle. YUMMM. - Off the menu carpaccio platter. Again, does it get prettier than this? And you know the carpaccio was tasty. - Wagyu dumplings. Dripping with spicy ponzu, this is another delectable choice. But again, if you have to choose just one app, go for the sashimi pizza. - Chocolate sushi roll cake. This is the thing I saw on the menu that made me want to come here, and it doesn’t disappoint. I’ve never seen sushi in dessert form before, and it’s just as beautiful to look at as it is to eat. Whittier is right on the border of OC, so this isn’t too bad of a drive at all. This is absolutely one to add to your list and bookmark. What do you think of all those presentations?! . . . #whittier #wheretogo #losangeles #california #orangecounty #datenight #sushi #sushidate #dateideas #discover #explore #presentation #foodie #feedfeed #dessert #unique #dessertable #desserts #wagyu #sashimi #nigiri #woah

Great vibes in the air at Azabu! This is an absolute gem in the City of Whittier. The decor is trendy yet classy. It's my favorite restaurant. Their menu has a wonderful selection of entrees and appetizers. We usually order some appetizers and share while having a couple of drinks. The staff provides phenomenal service and take pride in it. Their quality of service is in a league of their own. Nothing but fun and positive vibes here. Sashimi lovers! Their sashimi sampler is a little piece of heaven. It is fresh and melts in your mouth. Presentation is more of a work of art. My favorite at Azabu. We also had some edamame. It was delicious and also fresh. I Love their smokey old fashioned. They smoke it for you at your table. The smokiness elevates the drink and complements the other ingredients. It's my favorite drink here. It's a beautiful drink that is good for the sould. *make sure to let your awesome server know you want it smoked* My brother had the house saki. It didn't disappoint. It's smooth and makes you feel warm and fuzzy. Every dish is a beautiful work of art and everything that I have had is delicious. This is the perfect place for happy hour with friends. The decor is a great background for your pics. It's also a perfect place for date night or any other occasion. Check it out for yourself. You won't be sorry. This is a hot spot and reservations arenthe best way to get a seat without a long wait. Although, Azabu is well worth the wait. You will have a wonderful time while enjoying some excellent food and drinks.

This place charged us a large party service fee EVEN THOUGH WE DIDN'T DINE WITH SIX PEOPLE?!

Thinking about this whole situation still feels like a slap in the face and I never leave one-star reviews!

We made a reservation for six at Azabu a few weeks ago. My mom is on a chemo medication and upon arrival, she was feeling nauseous and went home before any of our food arrived.

It was just five of us for the entirety of the meal.

When we got the check, my dad paid right away, but when he went to leave a tip, he saw that we had already been charged the 20% large party gratuity fee.

We talked with the manager who was extremely apathetic to our situation. He essentially told us that we had to pay for the seat, and not so much for the person that was in that seat. We explained that she didn't even eat and left immediately after getting sat at our table and if it was the five of us where would he have sat us? He explained it would have been a smaller table which we wouldn't have even fit at to begin with...

It's a shame to think that this place values money over their customer experience. As someone who was born and raised here I will be sure to never recommend this place to family, friends, or visitors.

If you're looking for great sushi and a familial feel, I recommend Dakara on...

Complete mismanagement, misleading menu, and overwhelmed staff. My boyfriend made a reservation here for Valentine’s Day at 8:45, we showed up 10 minutes early thinking we could grab a drink before our dinner and we realized there were at least 10 couples waiting outside. We were told a 30 minute wait because they were backed up. We ended up not being sat until 9:55pm. We didn’t leave the restaurant until 12:20am. Our food took over an hour to come and it was just okay. We HAD to order off the prefixed menu, we picked the cheaper option because we didn’t trust the more expensive one to be worth it at the time and thank goodness we did. It wasn’t until we sat down and were about to order were we told that everything was shared even the entree. My boyfriend and I had to share ONE steak. The manager (or owner?) was on the floor helping but made no effort to rectify the situation for anyone. This was a huge oversight and even offering a free drink or something would’ve softened the blow while people waited outside in the cold for over an hour. You could also tell the entire waitstaff was in over their heads. So disappointed with this because we were so excited to come here.

Patrick was our server and he was kind and...
