Just went to Whittier brewing company tonight. We were quickly brought to the outside patio for seating. It's a little plain outside. Tables were more than 6 feet apart, which is nice. All of the staff were very nice and helpful. However, they do need improvements. When you come in and purchase a beer, there should be more than one person servicing the line of people. At one point the line was almost to the front door. They could take care of a lot of that issue by having one person service the people that are sitting outside. It was very surprising to see no workers other than someone cleaning off the tables helping outside. If you want another beer you have to get up and go stand in line again. I am almost certain that a lot of people that were sitting at the tables with their empty glasses were wanting another one, but didn't want to go stand in line. My friend felt that way. This is lost revenue. More lost revenue is that they did not have paper menus at the tables outside so it really didn't advertise the fact that they have food. Again they should have somebody assisting on the patio.during this time I think that restaurants want to maximize their profits and this is two ways they could be doing that. I did have a burger and my friends had tacos and the few other things and the food was very good.I will go back but they need to make some major improvements before they are in a four or five...
Read moreMy SIL and BIL had been telling us about the amazing BBQ at Pit and Bull so we finally made it to the Whittier Brewing Company to check it out. I'm a sucker for brisket, so I got the brisket sandwich - DELISH -and my hubby got the Pit Burger which had burnt ends. He really liked his burger, but I really think my brisket sandwich was better! The buns were toasted up real nice and real tasty! I got my sandwich with fries and my hubby got the beans as his side. I'm kind of a fry snob, and I just want to say that they nailed it with their fries. They had shoestring style fries that were cooked fresh to order and were served nice and hot! My hubby's beans were tasty - and they had a little bit of a kick in them.
They have lots of picnic tables in their dining area - but they filled up real quick - and once the place was full, it got really noisy! People were setting up for parties - definitely a fun spot for a party!!!
We also picked up some sweets from Providence Bakehouse - I got the apricot danish, a guava croissant and a cinnamon roll. So far, we've only tried the apricot danish and it was really good - we'll have the others later for dessert tonight.
I just have to note that the building is a beautiful historic building which housed the first law office of President Richard Nixon.
This was definitely a great spot to check out while...
Read more10/10 Tried this place for the first time yesterday and it was such a cool spot! The place is really big, a lot of indoor seating and outdoor seating in the beer garden. They had live music when I went (on a Saturday night) not sure how often they have bands but they play outside in the beer garden and they were really good!
The beer selection is pretty decent and they have food options as well. Wood fire pizzas and tacos.
I had a pizza and some IPAs, definitely will be coming back again soon! The pizza was amazing, you should definitely give them a try. They have a lot of neat couches and I even saw a giant connect four at one of the seated areas, as well as some pinball machines. If you're thinking of visiting this place don't hesitate!
Only down side is finding parking in the area, might have to walk a bit but it's such a nice area I didn't...
