IHOP — Restaurant in Whittier

I've always liked iHop over all, but this visit was not great. Every-where, I mean everywhere was Grinch Pancakes... signs, posters, stickers, menus, the table standee next to me and the syrup... everywhere I looked... 9am before the crowds 'cause as we were eating I noticed out side and inside was filled with waiting guests... so what did my kids want? OF COURSE, Grinch Pancakes! And what are they OUT of? GRINCH PANCAKES! REALLY IHOP!?! What brain trust stocks that kitchen? How about ditching the signage when the cook says, duh, I guess we're out... good grief! Get it together IHOP. What no green food coloring? How about a quick trip to Ralph's down the street. PT 2: I ordered eggs, bacon, hash browns and toast (the 2x2x2 as its called) , everyone else, fancy stuffed... eggs over medium, ok, hash browns... a square of stiff, dry &flat potatoes and the really nice marbled rye... both cold! ...butter wouldn't ever melt. My meal was barely tepid... the kids were fine... oh, and my son had a big beautiful hot & moist in the inside, crispy outside Hash Browns... which I didn't notice till the end of the meal, when they were cold! WHITTIER IHOP the name of the game is...

My boyfriend & I ate here on our 1st unofficial date, aprox 5 yrs ago. Since we're both 50+, this place was ideal, & still is. Esp for big coffee drinkers like us! We live nearby, so it's easy for us to drive by & check if they're busy or not. We prefer to eat here during their slow times, so we could enjoy a more quiet environment. Customer service is always friendly, & anything you order will be delicious. The atmosphere is clean, organized, relaxing, & follows Covid protocol. It's nice to see their REGULARS make themselves at home, making a Bee line to quickly find their seats. If you love coffee like us, you'll enjoy the carafe being left on your table. Fill & warm your coffee, on your time, w/o the wait. Nice touch. We come here, to relive the memories, now & again. Esp in winter mos, where we could enjoy hot meals & hot...

We came in and it was a bit busy, which I understand because it was only 11am. But we were ignored by staff when we got there until we were given a table, the place is way too crowded tables completely back to the wall I think to maximize space and table availability but we felt squished. We asked for 2 waters, a coffee, and an orange juice, we got 3 waters and a coffee, no orange juice. She didn't even write down our drinks or anything, just did it all from memory but didn't get it even though we asked again. We got our food after almost an hour, there were blueberries on my chocolate chip pancakes, my boyfriend's pancakes were burnt. So the food overall just wasn't great. Don't think I'll visit this...
