It pains me to write the occasional poor review, but there are those times...
The greeter quickly met and ushered us to our table, but apart from this and the collecting of the check that was to be the only quick service of the evening.
After the first drink refill, which was not too long in waiting, yet by no means timely, service dropped to nearly a standstill. At one point as our waitress was sitting in direct line of sight replenishing salt & pepper shakers. I set my empty tea glass at the edge of the table with a slight but clearly audible clunk. She apparently did not notice. Minutes later my wifes empty glass joind mine at the tables edge. With both glasses displyed empty it was still a goodly while before we would see refills.
The food was far from flavor rich. Also, in my opinion, less substantial than is reasonable. My wife told me that while her grilled cheese was hot, it was soggy.
I left the table to use the restroom. A decision I regret. I should have waited until we reached our next stop. I could smell the restrooms from the adjacent dining area on that side of the restaurant. Had they attempted to seat us there instead of where they did, I'd have turned round and exited on the spot.
While service, generally speaking, has declined in many places over the years from what "service" used to be; thankfully most establishments are not this bad.
When including ourselves in the count the of only eight groups of diners in the whole restaurant, its hard to imagine that there might be any "good" reason for such lack of service.
I trully do dislike writing poor reviews, but if it saves someone from meeting the same... and adding insult, paying out their hard earned money for that, then I supose that a truthful review of these situations is...
Read moreWanted to get something for dinner and the family wanted Mimi's Cafe . We arrived at about 6:15pm. .We signed in and was told about 20 minutes. At about 7:20pm we were taken to a small booth in the back corner by the restrooms. A few minutes later the server brought bread and we ordered dinners and drinks . Salads were ordered with Ranch dressing Only . Salads all showed up with vinagret. While eating salads we noticed there was only 2 pieces of bread and some little flat bran muffins .One of the muffins had a Bite taken out of it . YOU COULD SEE THE TEETH MARKS . We watched as other guests that were sat after us were brought their dinners and said nothing. We noticed that the Mgr. and the cook were helping to deliver dinners and they only had 2 waitresses. Dinner finally arrived. The pork chops tasted ( Bad) funky , the salmon tasted and looked microwaved, the vegetables taste microwaved. My chopped Cobb salad ordered Without blue cheese crumbles , without green onions, and thousand islands dressing. It came with everything, including vinagret. Maybe just a bad night or just bad Mgt. We won't come back to find out . P.S. the desserts that came with the dinners look like they just come out of a box , like jello pudding cups . Whole...

We came in for breakfast and were blown away — not just by the food, but by the absolutely top-tier service. We ordered the Crab Cake Eggs Benedict and the Classic Eggs Benedict, both of which were perfectly cooked, rich, and flavorful. The crab cakes were especially impressive — crisp on the outside, tender inside, and full of fresh flavor.
To drink, I had the Peanut Butter Mocha Iced — hands down one of the most unique and delicious coffee drinks I’ve had in a long time. Shoutout to Valentino, who crafted it with clear skill and attention. The balance of chocolate, coffee, and peanut butter was spot on.
But what really made this experience unforgettable was Chelsea. Her service was outstanding — warm, attentive, and truly welcoming. She has that rare ability to make you feel completely at home from the moment you walk in. Chelsea brings an energy and professionalism that elevates the whole experience. She’s the kind of person who makes you want to come back, again and again.
If you’re in town and looking for a place that serves great food and treats you like family, this café is it. Don’t miss it — and ask for Chelsea...
