Pho & Roll — Restaurant in Whittier

I went in for a pho and roll lunch special. It being my first time there I did not know what to expect. I asked for a menu and I found the picture of the pho. I ordered a rare steak pho and a shrimp pho. I was charged 27 dollars. and was asked to wait 15 minutes. When I came in to pick up my order I noticed the way it was packaged it did not seem like there was a soup inside. I opened up the bag and noticed that it was a salad with noodles and shrimp with peanuts. Add the other box had salad noodles and beef. I went back in to let the waitress know that my order was wrong. She said ‘that is what you ordered. I told her I ordered the picture on the menu. I got a menu and I opened it and pointed to where I had pointed earlier when I ordered. She said that I did not point to that. She went on and on about me ordering from a different part of the menu. I told her I did not. I ordered from the picture of a bowl of soup. She was frazzled and didn’t know what to do she walked back-and-forth talking to other employees. Then she told me what she could do is give me the soup in a container and just to add the salad looking stuff into the hot soup. ( I don’t know how she thought that I was going to put lettuce and carrots into the hot soup.) I said the steak has to be rare to be put in the soup not cooked like it is in the salad. She went on to walk back-and-forth and asked me to sit down. Then she explain to me how she was Fixing the problem and told me that next time to order it another way. I tapped her on the shoulder and said goodbye’ and I took my order and left. When I got home I rated the pho. My daughter enjoyed the rare steak pho. I on the other hand have had better. I been here twice due to enjoying and loving my food the 1st time therefor my return but my 2nd visit was not as appetizing I order the lunch special pho and a roll (California Roll) I frequently eat rolls and know how they are suppose to taste. This roll was sour rice seem under cooked (hard) rice taste like it was rotten. I got so disgusted I told our waitress the deal and shes like you know rice is sometimes sour. She told another person working with her in her language and he approached me and laughed what you mean sour no no nothing wrong.(I felt like they got defensive towards me and made me want to at feel wrong) My boyfriend was been nice and his like its okay we will still pay. A few minutes later another customer I guess complained. I could see them looking at me talking and saying rice. I am facing the sushi bar and can see the sushi chef tasting the rice and making a face.. Had another employee taste it and I see them walk away with the pot of rice to the back of the kitchen. They never came to apologize. At the time of paying our check all the waitress said I didn't charge...

I wasn't impressed to say the least. I always see a line, so I was hoping it was delicious. When my fiance and I first got there we waited a bit and then the girl came up to us and asked us if we signed in yet. I told her no And she gave me the full clipboard and full list of names and told me to sign in... I asked her for a new sheet and she said no, just put your name here and time and walked away. Many people who had already touched the marker and nothing was cleaned between people signing in. We got the sea food pho, veggie pho, egg rolls and combo fried rice. The veggie pho was absolutely tasteless. Even with the eel sauce and hot sauce it had no taste at all. The seafood pho was decent, but again the broth had no flavor whatsoever. In the fried rice the chicken was over cooked and still lacked any type of flavor. It was a let down, but now I know. =) Off to try...
