Delicious coffee! I’m so glad Whittier finally opened a smaller coffee shop with delicious coffee! Although Im new to this place so I haven’t tried many of their drinks yet, I loved the first one I tried so much I was craving it, so went back the next day. I got the fireplace latte, and for me it was the perfect balance of sweet and coffee. It’s really difficult to find that good balance. Either the lattes are like the ones at Starbucks too milky or too syrupy that you barely feel like you’re drinking coffee, or it’s so strong and almost bitter. In this drink I can taste all the ingredients. The customer service is great too. So far the two times I went the workers were so kind, which is a huge plus especially because nowadays customer service isn’t so good anymore, so I appreciate it when I do get it. I don’t like to regular coffee shops where I feel like a nuisance. In the future I will try their other drinks. But so far so good! I hope more ppl come here because we can really use more of these kinds of cafes around here My ONLY complaint which is not even a complaint but more unfortunate for me, is that I wish they opened at 7 instead of 8! I wish I could get a coffee from here for my commute to school, but I leave at 7 so they open too late for me to get it on my way to school which is unfortunate :( but glad it’s not far from me so I can get a coffee whenever I’m...
Read moreHands down, Smoking Tiger in Whittier is a gem! I stopped by and tried their café latte and Spanish latte, and I’m still dreaming about them—seriously, some of the best coffee I’ve ever had in the area. The flavors were rich, perfectly balanced, and just hit all the right spots. What makes this place stand out is how they weave Korean culture into every detail. From the cozy, thoughtfully designed interior to the playlist that sets the mood, you feel transported. Their menu, with unique offerings like yuzu and misugaru-infused drinks and pastries, is a love letter to Korean heritage. It’s clear they’re passionate about sharing their roots, and it makes the experience so authentic and memorable. The staff was super welcoming and genuinely cared about making my visit special. You can tell this young team is all about building community and creating connections. Smoking Tiger isn’t just a coffee shop—it’s a vibe, a place where you feel at home and inspired. I’m already planning my next visit and telling all my friends they have to check it out. Keep shining,...
Read moreMy favorite cafe in the 714 has finally made its way north to Whittier and we are all the better for it. I am all about cold brew, the version they serve at Smoking Tiger is consistently smooth with a finish that tastes a little like berries. To me, that's a sign that they know what they're doing here. My wife enjoys their lattes, especially the hojicha latte, which is unique among cafes in Whittier. Almost as spectacular as their coffee are their pastries and other baked goods, and in particular the fantastic garlic cream cheese bread! Moreover, they are constantly coming up with new and incentive creations that make repeat visits worthwhile. The location takes over the former Churroholic space and free parking is plentiful. If you want to hang out and study, there are a ton of chairs and tables inside. If I have one gripe, it is that the cafe doesn't open until 8am, which makes it hard to go in the AM before my morning commute. Can we TRY opening at 7AM maybe twice a week? Overall, you will find no better coffee experience in the City...
