very disappointing experience my family and I recently had at your Applebee’s location in Wichita, Kansas, located at 3025 N Rock Rd. On October 7,2025 @ approximately 7:50pm leaving at 8:51pm Our waiter that evening was JP, and the manager on duty was John.
We ordered our meals and drinks as usual — my wife and daughter ordered the Parmesan Alfredo pasta, while my son and I had the Bourbon Chicken and Shrimp. Unfortunately, both Alfredo dishes were dry, lacked sauce, and were overall distasteful. In addition, my wife recently developed a tomato allergy, and we were unaware that the chicken was topped with marinara sauce. When we mentioned this to JP, he said he needed to get the manager. When John arrived, we rudely explained the issues, but his response was both unprofessional and offensive. He stated, “Well, that sounds like a her problem and you want to blame it on us.” Shocked by this comment, we tried to further explain, but he continued to be dismissive. He said he would not take the meals back or discount them, claiming food had been eaten — even though my daughter had only taken a couple of bites and the plate was still visibly full. My wife decided to reorder a different meal — the Bourbon Chicken and Shrimp — and when John brought it back, he said, “I hooked you up — there’s a fresh piece of chicken and about 10 shrimp on this.” The phrase “fresh chicken” made us uncomfortable, as it implied the other chicken might not have been fresh to begin with. Read moreIn today's age, customer service is severely lacking. I know what you're going to think before you say it. It's Applebee's, so of course it's bad. This location, with my server, tonight was exceptional. I came in at 5:15 roughly. I was greeted immediately and told there'd be a 15-20 minute wait. I expected this, as it was dinner, so I sat patiently, and was seated fairly quickly. I ordered the all you can eat boneless wings and a Dr Pepper. My server took my order quickly and brought my Dr Pepper out quickly informing me of the wait on the wings. My server stayed on top of this and never let my drink be empty. Apparently, another server thought I was being neglected and chose to hover. I thought this was extremely unnecessary, but she was polite and professional, so I didn't mind. My wings come out, and they were delicious. Saying that they were worth the wait would be an understatement. I eat and my server takes stellar care of my table. I enjoy my food and service for probably the first time in a week. I'm not advising that you should go here, but I am saying it was an amazing experience, and I'll be going back soon. I have no expectations that it will be this good again. It is Applebee's, but if they stay on par with this level of experience, I'll be advising to go here after my next visit. Really good job guys. Hopefully, this is not a one of. BTW, my server was the big guy, like 6 ft 4 and 300 lbs. Reminded me of a teddy bear. Get this guy if you do go here and he's an option. Read moreI just left Applebee's in tears I'm so upset with how the waitress Ashley treated me & the manager Dennis. It was a bad experience from the time I arrived & checked in from the waitlist. The booth I was sitting in was dirty I waited ten minutes for the waitress. I went to the restroom before my food came out I wasn't in the restroom very long. When I got back to my table my food was there. My double-crunch wings were not made extra crispy like I asked the skin on the wings was soft & fatty. My French fries were hard & cold my waitress Ashley never came back to check on me until 20 minutes after she brought my food out. I told Ashley about the food she got an attitude with me & blamed it on me being in the restroom the reason my food was not correct. I asked for the manager I saw Ashley talking to Dennis before he came to my table It took Dennis 20 minutes to come to my table. I tried to explain to Dennis that I was not happy about my food & how long I had to wait for service. Dennis cut me off from talking and told me they were busy. It looks like he is not going to be able to satisfy me so I can pay for my drink & leave. I have been going through some personal emotional issues I already don't feel too good about myself. I just wanted to get out of the house tonight be around people & enjoy my dinner. The last thing I expected was to be treated like I didn't deserve good customer service & that my time meant nothing.
