My wife and I came through here on Tuesday, 10.15.25, for a quick lunch on one of our vacation days. Our server was fantastic, and when I told the manager on the way out, she told me that if I mentioned our server by name, she would get a free meal. So, here goes.
Jordan. My server's name was Jordan. Jordan, Jordan, Jordan. J.O.R.D.A.N. Fantastic job, JORDAN.
We were impressed with Jordan from the moment we sat down. She brought us water, asked if we needed other drinks (we did), brought those, told us about the lunch special, the salads, answered questions about the pizzas, and told us about her favorite. She was knowledgeale without being pretentious, attentive without hovering, and just made the overall dining experience enjoyable. So, thanks for that, Jordan.
As for the food - we got two lunch specials. The special consisted of one of three salads, and any pizza off the menu, but served in a smaller (personal) size. My wife got a Caesar salad, and I picked one with apples, walnutes, and blue cheese crumbles. Both were excellent. Our pizzas were also very good, though there was some room for improvement. My wife's pizza had too much ranch on it, and my pizza, though cooked through, was noticeably cooler in the center than on the perimeter. Bites from the outside were almost too hot to eat, while the center was warm, though not hot. However, the toppings were generous, and the crust was without flop, crispy on the outside, while also being chewy on the inside. Nothing about the pizzas or salads would prevent us from going back, though if I orered the same pizza a second time (pepperoni, sausage, banana peppers, and a garlic cream sauce), I would ask for it to be well done. My wife would choose a different pizza or ask for light ranch.
Ambiance was lovely. The restaurant is decorated tastefully, and in spite of having a wall of windows, it still manages to avoid being too bright. Interestingly, the same manager I spoke to on my departure came around during the meal and left us with a QR code so that we could immediately get in contact with her directly if we had questions, comments, or concerns. As the service was fantastic, and the food very good, we had no reason to use the QR code.
Oak an Pie - good menu and good food that may rrequire only minor adjustment to get five stars. Also, if Jordan is any indication, you have also done a good job of training and selecting knowledgeable, pleasant staff. Thanks for a pleasant,...
Read moreFrom the moment we walked in, service was abysmal. I joined the “waitlist” about 15 minutes prior to arriving, for a larger party, and it stated the wait was 30 minutes. That’s fine. I had my husband check in, the hosts repeatedly told him that we were NOT on the list… while i was receiving texts about the waitlist, but i digress. They weren’t too busy and they got us sat. Our server, Ava, was not very knowledgeable on the beer/cocktail list, and seemed like she didn’t even want to serve us. We ordered our drinks, which took about 20 minutes for us to get, and we had to wait another 20 for the beers that were ordered. By this point we had not even gotten the chance to order our food, as our server was giving us a wide berth and actively avoiding us. She finally comes by, an hour after we’ve initially sat down, and asks if we need more time to figure out we need.. NO! An hour is already enough time!! We had two young children that were beyond antsy at this point, and we were all getting hangrier by the second. She slowly took our order and she did not enter our food until about fifteen minutes later, which i had made a note to keep an eye on. It took another hour to get the food! Ava didn’t check on us at all, offered no refills, nothing, in the HOUR it took to get our food. We waited TWO HOURS, just to eat.. I had to go out of my way to ask for napkins and silverware from the hosts. We were missing a soup, but because Ava was not checking on us, I had to get up and ask the woman standing at EXPO. I am also a server. I know how a restaurant runs. The place was NOT busy, and there was no reason we had to be there two hours just to receive our food. The servers should be touching base frequently. We left with full bellies, but we were all annoyed with the way we were treated and with how much time we wasted...
Read moreI don’t like writing bad reviews. That being said, it seems like I only take the time to write reviews when I have a bad experience. My stellar experience today at Oak and Pie was worth sharing.
Today I brought my wife and our 3 month old to Oak and Pie today for Mothers Day lunch. My first impression was a good one. The atmosphere is modern and classy with good music and a nice outdoor seating area. Though the place had seen some traffic earlier in the day, it was very clean. We were seated promptly and our server was professional. The manager came around and greeted us and gave us a QR code to use if we had any issues. We had a few hiccups early on. My wife sent a message via the QR code to check on the mimosa she had ordered. The manager got things into gear and the mimosa arrived shortly after. She apologized and made amends for the mishap (which wasn’t a huge ordeal). Another issue occurred that was a simple mistake that we brought to the managers attention. We didn’t throw a big fuss about anything, but the manager fixed the issue again and then comped the meal. She went way above and beyond by throwing another mimosa my wife’s way and added in desert. The whole interaction brought my wife to tears. What could have been a subpar or even upsetting experience turned out to be exemplary. We recently moved back to Wichita from Kansas City and have been checking out a lot of the new places on Greenwich. We will definitely be back. I could see this becoming our regular spot to kick back at. Food was amazing by the way (I had the meatball sandwich with gnocchi chicken soup and my wife had the baked salmon). Can’t wait to try the wine and pizza!
Thank you Sara(h) for the amazing service and making my wife’s day on her first...
