We came here for dinner around 8 pm while spending the weekend in July in Wildwood. We were seated right away in their covered outdoor area which was comfortable in the cool night air, though out table was on a noticeable slant. I ordered the Taste of Italy, a sampler of their pastas (gnocchi, stiffed shells, ravioli, and spaghetti) and my partner ordered the grouper special with Jackie sauce (white wine, butter, seafood - shrimp, scallops, crabmeat?) Our meals came with a house salad in house dressing, a rich italian/parmesaen sauce, evenly coated over each bite with large chunks of juicy tomato, shaved parmesean, and iceberg which was very good. We also got a complimentary basket of Italian bread, a sliced sesame loaf with whipped butter and olive oil with capers, red pepper, and olives for dipping. Between the appetizers and entrées, we were served a complimentary scoop of lemon sorbet, topped with a sprinkle of zest as a palette cleanser, which was a nice refreshing, cool intermezzo. The fish dish came out nicely, a large thick tender steak portion with a bright, slightly thick, and savory sauce. The rest of the shellfish was cooked to perfection, not overdone or rubbery. Overall good, but nothing so amazing as to justify to $50 MP. My dish was served topped with a hearty meatball and a chunk of Italian sausage. The pasta was cooked to a pleasing soft bite, but not quite al dente. The ravioli was the highlight with its slightly sweet ricotta cheese filling and the stuffed shells a close second. I enjoyed the gnocchi, which was pillowy and not super dense as to be too toothsome. The red sauce was a bit lackluster, a slightly savory, reduced tomato puree with tomato paste (ala 'plain' tomato sauce), without any balancing sweetness or aromatics e.g. garlic/dried herbs. Definitely on the acidic side, disappointingly one dimensional like warmed up sauce from a can. I would have preferred a more mellowed out pasta sauce, tempered in tartness with mirepoix or at the very least sautéed onion. For our two mains we waited for over 30 mins between courses. However, the portions were sizeable, and we took home enough leftovers for a second (and maybe even third) meal.

If I could give no stars I would!!! The last time we were here we had a very nice experience, our waiter was a younger man and he was the only reason we wanted to come back. just shows service means everything. Our waitress (Patrice) was completely rude and inhospitable. I asked for a side of limes with my water she proceeds to walk up to me with three slices of lime on a skewer and stood there waiting for me to take it instead of serving them in a bowl or plate. When filling up our water glasses she decided to reach over us instead of filling them from across the table. Also taking things without asking if we were finished. No manners at all and inattentive. Didn’t ask us if we needed anything or desert. Not to mention, they have no prices on their menu you have to have a mobile phone to scan a QR code if you want to be directed to their website which has completely different prices than listed on their menu provided by google. Which I was rudely responded to when inquiring about why the prices were different. She said it could’ve been from 5 years ago……. Well, shouldn’t someone be checking up on that and updating it? If you are sensitive to sound do not come here either as it is very loud and I had to sit through dinner with my coat on because it is so freezing in there. This was the first time ever eating out where I didn’t leave a tip. Rude service rude management and an upsetting experience for my girlfriends birthday dinner. And Watch out for the “hostess” manager or whoever the large woman is at front because she was nasty too. I think her name is Susan? Not worth coming here at all. The only nice thing I could say about this place is they have a very nice bartender. P.S. they charge 4$ for paying with a card. Not to mention how overpriced their items are that isn’t even worth it. No wonder they try to hide it from the menu. 13$ for 4 pieces of shrimp cocktail? 32$ for shrimp with pasta?! It’s a good thing we didn’t ask for extra salad of bread as they charge an extra 10$ ! Charging high prices for low quality food and service.

I was in the area on an architectural film installation. A local resident had suggested Alfe's as a seafood dining experience. I never have time. Time is in short supply. So when I find myself with time on my hands, I like to make the most of it, so off to Alfe's I went. I dined alone, but I ordered a few dishes knowing full well I wouldn't finish everything and would be taking a lot on the road with me. I usually ignore salads and jump straight into the good stuff. But, the house salad here took me by surprise. I actually cleaned the plate. If you feel a sniffle or your under the weather and you order their Calamari Diablo, there's no way you're getting a cold. I wanted to finish it all and I could have, but I had other courses I had so I left that half finished. The lobster tail was really a treat. I made a point of eating a good portion of it without the melted butter and it was seasoned and broiled to perfection. I couldn't help it. I finished that lobster tail. Another main course that I ordered as a side was their gnocchi with sausage, and I had about a quarter of that and a few slices of sausage and that was very good. As my beverage, I had a coffee roma, and while I rarely drink, this was such a a good choice. I also had a cappuccino off to the side to balance it out. I tipped my waitress fifty dollars, and you should to. Tiffany was well worth it. I'm sure she takes care of every customer as well as she took care of me. She was very insightful in helping guide me through my choices. She remained personable, and stayed on top of keeping my water glass full and making sure everything was okay. If you're in the area and you value your time (just as much as your clients do) it won't be wasted at Alfe's.

Awful and rude ! Unwilling to accommodate a stroller in an empty dining room and only willing to flip over a high chair! Told me to buy my own sling if I wanted to dine in ….. I don’t care if food is good if you are willing to be rude to a paying patron I will take my business elsewhere. I have never met a more rude manager than here at Alfies! Don’t give them your business … plenty of other great establishments that deserve your money!

In response:

It actually is not inaccurate. You were rude from the start when you asked how many we had and your response was “You will need to put your stroller back in the car.” Those were the first words out of your mouth. Not how you should speak to a customer. You were rude, unkind, and condescending. I am not sure if you were having a bad day and decided to take it out on my family and me who wanted to give your business our money. There is a proper way to go about the situation and how you handled it was very upsetting from the start. You were unapologetically rude and dismissive.

How dare you state my review was inaccurate, I can say the same to you.

Your high chairs do not accommodate car seats. High chairs are not meant to be flipped over like that, it is highly unsafe, hence the reason slings are made for the sole purpose of accommodating a car seat.

No, I did not compare myself to someone whom is handicap. I asked if you accommodate wheel chairs. I asked you to state the policy and fire code in comparison to a stroller and a wheel chair. You did not answer my questions, instead you gave me a rude and unprofessional response because let’s be honest, you didn’t like my question and in fact said “Then go buy your own sling!” again with a rude, yelling, unkind tone!

You did not apologize. You stated several times “I am sorry you feel that way!” That is not an apology.

And to clear it up again, I did not verbally abuse your staff, I asked a question and your staff was unable to answer my question or act in a professional manner. Your wait staff ignored me and walked away, why wouldn’t I be angry with the behavior presented by first you then your staff?

We enjoyed a wonderful dinner with exceptional service at the Beach Creek Oyster Bar that night whom explained to us that they have a hard time accommodating strollers but would be glad to do so.

I respect and fully understand a fire code. What I do not understand is your ability to be rude to customers trying to dine at your establishment. The way you talk to people really makes a difference. It really is a shame because in the past I have enjoyed the food at your restaurant. However, if your staff including a manager has the audacity to treat a patron this way, I will never step foot in your restaurant again. How dare you speak to me as you did, if I could go back I would surely say and ask the same things to you because of the way you treated me.

I will be sure to tell everyone that I know in Wildwood of my awful experience and to make sure they stay far away from Alfes.

Your response on Google for all to see tells people all they need to know about your own behavior and how unprofessional...

If you are looking for a great Italian dinner - do not go to Alfe's Restaurant Wildwood

This place had dropped off considerably in the past couple years.

We had an underwhelming time last year during restaurant week but we decided to give them another shot this year - what a mistake.

First off - you could see better going down a back alley with a broken flashlight. I don't know why they make it so dark in there. There was people with there phones out just to read the menu.

Alfe's must mean "frozen" in Italian. For appetizers we got calamari and the Buffalo cauliflower bites. You can tell when calamari is frozen when every piece is the same and no tentacles. It was so bland that even putting 2 pieces of lemon directly on the piece couldn't help. The "marinara sauce" and I use that term loosely was nothing more than tomato sauce out of a can. No seasoning at all. No pepper, salt, basil, garlic, or anything in it.

The Buffalo Cauliflower Bites sounded promising - they were absolute breaded mush. If they would've put them in a fryer or even air fryer it would've been palatable.

For dinner we ordered the chicken parmigiana and chicken santili. If you put their chicken parm and On-Cor/Banquet frozen meal Chicken parm side by side you couldn't tell the difference. That's how bad it was. The patty was so thin and tasteless. We were worried the same sauce from the calamari would be used on the chicken parm and it was. You could tell it's not homemade cutlets (and if it is it's extremely poor quality). The chicken santili was disappointing as well. It sounded delicious (cutlet topped with sauteed spinach, fresh mozzarella cheese, plum tomatoes drizzled with balsamic reduction). There was no flavor. How do you have all these ingredients and once again there's zero flavor.

The salad that they are known for is what draws people in by word of mouth. When it's on it's absolutely delicious. But you can tell they just make a big container of it and it sits. Tonight's first half of the bowl was delicious but the bottom was soggy.

When the best part of your meal is the bread and the soda (not the wine that we were charged for and never even ordered) - that's a problem, especially when you are paying $100+.

We won't ever go to Alfe's again. The quality is poor. You can get better food elsewhere (highly recommend The Ravioli House - we have gone there about 10 times in 2 years - get the Seafood Alfredo and...

I came with my wife and mother in law on Sunday night at 6 PM. One hour wait, that’s fine! We sat at the bar for an hour, only got one drink because the bartender was by himself! “Guys, I’ll be with you in a minute!” He was overwhelmed, so we waited about 10 mins for him to finish and take our order. We felt bad for him. The manager came over to help him, but just looked at the tickets and left. But he was handling it well. We were seated at 7 and ordered hot appetizers, salad and bread came with our entrees. I ordered the mozzarella sticks and, although very good, there was the smallest amount of mozzarella cheese in them. They must’ve been left in the fryer. It was basically a shell, but the breading and marinara had good flavor, so I ate them. It wasn’t until 15 mins we finished the appetizers that our salad and bread finally came out. Again, delicious. I have never had a complaint about the food. Our entrees come out at 8:48. Our server said she yelled at the kitchen because our food was taking too long and didn’t leave until she had it in hand. Much appreciated! Our server was very polite and nice. My MIL got the wrong dish, we let our server know, she said she put it in wrong and offered to replace it. My MIL didn’t want to wait another hour and a half for a dish considering it was almost 9PM. We asked for boxes and the check. She didn’t touch the meal, she just wanted to get out of there. We received the bill and the mistake meal was still on there. I brought it to the managers attention. She came back to the table and said we only waited an hour for our meals and “sure, I’ll take the meal off, but you’re takin it home with ya anyway…” My wife said “you can take it back, she didn’t even touch it. She ordered something else.” And the manager said, in a very condescending way, “no, we’ll just take it off even though you’re keepin it!” If it was a servers mistake, you take it off of the bill and offer to let them keep the meal and then replace the meal with the correct one. The server was standing right there and said “I’m so sorry and I’m sorry that the food took so long!” Meanwhile the manager said the food didn’t take long, we didn’t wait long. It’s just a shame because the food is amazing, but the interaction at the end left a bad taste in my mouth. It should have been...
