First I would like to address some of the negative reviews I read and wanted to cry. Bob and Cindy are two of the nicest people I've ever met. Cindy would never say any of this, so I will say it. They stay out of your business until/unless you invite them into your business. I stayed for 4 days/4 nights, and arrived past check in on Thursday night, 8/1/19. That was not a problem at all. When we arrived, yes, Cindy told us about the house rules. I LIKE the rules. If you don't have rules, that's when chaos erupts. Read the reviews for Bonito motel. (no rules) Enough said. Someone said they didn't have any privacy on the porch because Bob and Cindy were always there smoking. OMG, seriously? There are 3 floors of rooms in the hotel!! EVERYONE has a right to sit on the porch! You have no right to expect PRIVACY on the front porch. Are you kidding me? What if other guests were sitting there?! They sit on ONE SIDE of the porch. The porch is huge. If you don't want to speak with them, go sit on the other side! This is their HOME! Let them sit on the porch. I came out, sat down where Cindy was sitting, said "Hi" and the poor woman seemed timid. Like she didn't know if she should engage in conversation with me. Now I understand why. I hardly ever saw Bob. Once in a while he was sitting on the porch, he would say hi or wave. By the end of my stay, they were like old friends. As we drove away, they both stood on the porch waving. I was sad to leave. ||People complaining about the size of the rooms. They are small, but perfect. Everything is well kept, the beds are sooooooooo comfortable, the room and bathroom is clean and has everything you need. The shower is small, but gets the job done. The hot water did take a couple of minutes, but it takes a little bit for water to heat up, then to reach the 3rd floor! Sheesh. If you are spending THAT much time at the hotel that you need a huge room, a private porch, 30sqft shower, Olympic pool, visitors, the latest release DVDs, etc. you need to book at the Hilton. Don't bother leaving your own town. Just book the BEST hotel in your city for 1 week and hibernate in your room. My husband and I slept there and showered there. We were up and out by 8am and back at Midnight. We stopped in and out throughout the day to change for dinner, chat with Bob or Cindy, and back out. It was perfect.||Someone actually complained about the movies being old VHS tapes. Seriously? They don't have to have ANYTHING there for your entertainment. They have board games, books, movies, and the WiFi password is right on the back of your door. No calling or going down to the desk to get the PW. ||I paid a little over $400 for the 4 nights I stayed. It was close to the action end of the boardwalk, restaurants, etc. We rarely took the car out. We could have paid double that for a hotel with a pool, but I'm not going to a beach resort to swim in the pool. Bob, Cindy, and the HBH staff were the best, and I am looking forward to seeing them again next summer when I return. BTW Cindy, we didn't get to eat at Alfie's as you suggested. The wait time was close to 2 hrs!!! I guess it must be very good :) LOL Maybe when we can go when we come back next summer. You are welcome to join us!||Love you Bob and Cindy. See you next summer!!||||Rob and...
Read moreThis was our second time staying at Holly Beach for a weekend getaway. The rooms are a bit smaller than I'd hope, but we don't spend a lot of time in there anyway. Most importantly, each room has a private bathroom (though the shower controls are a little touchy - hard to get the water temp quite right). Surprisingly, the bed and pillows were incredibly comfortable. The other guests are respectful and quiet. Breakfast every morning was an impressive spread - pancakes, waffles, and bagels available to warm up, cheese, yogurt, juices, and hard boiled eggs in the fridge, pastries, individually wrapped biscuits, cinnamon rolls, and granola bars available for the taking. The innkeeper, Cindy, was very sweet and helpful. Free parking, and within a 10 minute walk of our favorite part of the boardwalk - "Fascination" at the "Remember When" arcade at the boardwalk mall. Lots of restaurants and bars within walking distance, but the inn is off to the side so you don't hear any rowdy revelers when they leave the bar at closing time. We'll definitely continue to stay here whenever we're...
Read moreThis place is very lovely and quaint. The room was comfortable enough for three and very clean. My request for clean pillows, linen, towels was accommodated and everything was as outlined. Location was also great, close to Wildwood Crest and Cape May. The hosts were very friendly, attentive and helpful in providing us with information about places to dine, pointed us in the right direction for night entertainment, and beaches to visit. We were celebrating my friends birthday and I am sure it will be a memorable one; due to our hosts at this hotel! I stayed here for lack of available accommodations at a four star hotel, but after our stay, I will give this place my four star status for a great place to stay in Wildwood. BTW-NO CAT SMELLS WHILE WE...
