Updated review Restaurant continues to ignore allergies and has not stopped putting customer health at risk I ordered yellow curry sauce to go, no fish sauce. Double reassured there would be no fish sauce, staff stated they remembered me "from the last time" I had a severely upset stomach and gut the whole afternoon, thru evening and straight thru night, tossing and turning, sweating, sick.
I strongly urge any person with any allergy to never attend here. They don't care nor respect patrons with allergies. They say one thing but do the opposite.
Original review from2 months prior: Ok short n simple to start. Either do better or adjust. Quality taste is fine. Quantity offered is not. Consistency is severely lacking. Prices are astronomical (considering everything stated below)
!WARNING! Concern for allergy and customer care is VERY fleeting. They allowed fish sauce in the to go curry after confirming I didnt want it in the dine in curry!!! !WARNING!
You'll always have a full cup of water. They rely on the water to fill you up.
$8broth spicy soup is a teacup serving.. very shocking.
The $18 veggy curry is all potato and rice. moderate squash, tofu. minimal carrot, broccoli, cabbage/greens..
Here's the run down/away:
They NEED to Balance their ratios. Stomach growled after spending $35 on an appetizer and entree.
Not anywhere near satiated.
Had to get a to go of rice n curry sauce just to feel full. The to go curry had the fish sauce in it so I was SICK FOR FOUR DAYS afterwards and felt like my STOMACH was LEAKING and my EYES were BULGING out of their sockets the rest of that night. I didn't wake up til evening the next day (18hours sleep).
Not to mention the difference in how much I got of the entree was about a third less from my 1st time to the 2nd only 5 days apart. I was truly shocked they had the gall to charge $48 for the 2nd service (double the 1st service) because I did not receive a $50 experience.
I felt not only let down but disregarded. Not even taken advantage of. Just appalled at the prices considering it all.
Plus they hand stamp "it is customary to tip 15-20% for exceptional service" or something like that. I'll say this: Quality service gets tipped no matter what. You should not remind the customer to tip. It's tactless. Service is more than the wait staff. It's the entire experience from the front of house to the back of it. If your chef isn't pulling their weight then your servers tip will reflect that. As a server you need to understand that when a meal doesn't reflect the standard of your communities pricing then you need to raise that up to the chef and then management to prevent loss of customers and your tips.
I always tip $3 minimum though Quality service gets anywhere from $10-$50.
Frankly with all things considered..
I get far more for only $25 extra in Manhattan boutiques serving only organic fresh plant based 100% scratch in house. That's a hot matcha coffee with small batch carrot cake starter (with 1 to go) followed by blueberry pancakes with zesty spinach pineapple n kiwi salad. A short break. Then a chili n corn bread transfer followed by morrocan chickpea curry in a bed of mixed rice, quinoa and lentils as well as grilled cheese with tomato soup Fresh ground hibiscus chamomile tea Ending with double chocolate brownie and a beautiful blueberry muffin and mint shake. Not to mention kind waiters who explain the food and guarantee no eggs, flesh nor chemicals/additives and an exquisite atmosphere.
^ the experience I had at that boutique cost a solid $75+ a $40 tip because I was cared for, treated fairly and had substance to my meal that left me stuffed halfway through. When I was unsure of pairing breakfast and lunch I received recommendations and had a wonderful time. If the world were to end in moments I would be content with it while eating there. I get this ain't Manhattan but that's the point.. this is not Manhattan, it's not Carmel by the sea It's not even Virginia Beach. Why are the prices so high for such sub...

Read moreWe visited Thai Thai around 6:30 on a Friday night, and there was plenty of seating available. Our server was very pleasant and wasn't afraid to engage in small conversation.
The Thai Dumplings was a unique and pleasant appetizer which featured steamed wontons filled with crabmeat, pork, chicken and shrimp, with a sweet black sauce. The Tom Kha Gai was a spicy soup bursting with a variety of flavors, to include coconut, lemon, lime and chili, among others.
