When you want authentic Mexican food, Los Dos Carnales is definitely a go to in the Wilkes Barre area. The dishes are made with fresh ingredients, especially the tortillas. They are handmade! For those who prefer pre-made tortillas, they also have both corn and flour versions available. We had the following as you can see in the photos.
Torta de Los Dos Carnales Especial - toasted Mexican sandwich with a mixture of your choice of breaded chicken or beefsteak topped with fried egg, avocado, lettuce and salsicha. Comes big enough to feed and satisfy 2 persons.
Tacos con camarones (shrimp) made with lettuce, radishes, lettuce and avocado. You can top it with salsa de guacamole or a spicy red salsa that comes with your order.
Also had a sample of tacos de lengua. Delicious and tender beef tongue with the typical taco ingredients already mentioned. Not gross at all. Please try a sample and you will not regret it.
Also, ordered an agua de Fresca de piña. Fresh pineapple juice! Simply delicious!

Update 5-30-25. I knew it was too good to be true. Slightly disappointed. The Food is excellent 5🌟. The Atmosphere is excellent 5🌟. The Price is fair 4🌟. The Portion Size is 5 🌟. The service Was 5 🌟 but dropped down to 3 🌟 because I went there early in May to use my Clipp discount Just to be told that they don't honor that anymore, even though it was not expired. They Said the reason why That discount is no longer honored is because they were Closing that location & moving next to amber indian restaurant by end of may 2025. The current date is 5-30-2025 And they are still in the same location. However, there is a sign posted in the new location that says coming soon. They just use the relocation Fact as a Escape Goat so they can get out of honoring the discount to Charge full price and Get themselves More money. I called up Clipp And Reported them. Clipp said They were getting alot of complaints from Customers who where having the same issue I had with this place with Not Honoring. Great new place. Try it, you won't be disappointed.
The service was phenomenal. The lady that served us appeared to be the owner, or an owner. She really knew her stuff. She was very friendly.
The food was amazing. I tried the plate of 3 carnitas tacos. They were perfect. The meat was tender and tasty. They were dressed with onions and cilantro, like most street tacos. The corn tortillas were nice and lightly grilled.
The plate came with 3 juice slices of lime, cucumber, green onions, jalapeno and some radish. There were two types of salsa. I didn't try the red spicy one. The green was really nice and not at all spicy. Overall, a great tasting plate.
