The Burnt Norton Restaurant, located on the corner of East Northampton and Washington Street in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, is a unique new restaurant that demands your attention and patronage. In addition to offering gourmet pizzas, the lunch and dinner menu selection also includes charcuterie boards, soups, salads, sandwiches, and refreshing fruit beverages. There is also a breakfast menu. Although the venue is small, the seating is maximized by using every available space without feeling cluttered or crowded. We arrived early on a Friday evening shortly after 6, and were seated at the only table remaining. We ordered a diet coke and a freshly made cucumber lemon spritzer before examining the menu. We ordered the Cherry Tomato and Marscapone Pizza, which also included arugula, fresh mozzarella, red onions, and a balsamic glaze, which was amazing. The toppings were balanced and well prepared, displayed beautifully on a 10”, soft, wood-fired dough. A fork and knife is recommended, as the crust is thin, but the end of the slice is light, airy, and thicker. This isn’t pizza in a traditional sense, but rather pizza reinvented. A margherita pizza is offered, but all the other selections are adventurous, such as one that features walnuts, blackberries and prosciutto. The menu also features enticing gems like Blackberry and Bacon salad and a mini Soppressata Charcuterie Board. Breakfast plates include a Strawberry Cheesecake Belgian Waffle, a Raspberry Sausage Biscuit, and a cannoli stuffed French toast. The restaurant also has a display of fresh baked goods, brought in daily from nearby Scranton. We couldn’t resist grabbing two brownies for a late snack before leaving, which were deliciously rich and decadent. The Burnt Norton had a soft opening on June 18th, and a grand opening on July 6th, although I would say the restaurant is already running on all cylinders. The place is clean, our server was truly convivial, and the atmosphere is relaxed and inviting. Owner Dezarae Sabecky truly has a gem here, and Wilkes-Barre is better because of it.

Wow, is it refreshing to have a place as awesome as The Burnt Norton in this area! I am a vegetarian for 36 years now & food long ago got boring. The Memphis Sunrise has changed my life!!! It is the most incredible thing I have tasted in YEARS! When I mentioned that to the owner, she shared the story with me about how she had the same reaction when having her first one in TN & how she knew she had to bring the deliciousness our way! I appreciated that interaction very much. I find there to be a great level of thought & care that goes into every aspect of this business! From the depth behind the name to the inviting, cozy ambiance to the mind-blowing concoctions! When I looked at the menu, I thought, “Culinary genius!” The food is an art form in this place, I swear! Not only is the presentation impeccable but I’ve never seen such dynamic options in this area! The service was also amazing! An instant good vibe & friendly atmosphere! Swift & polite wait staff, always ready with a smile or laugh! Very good looking waitresses too, I might add. Highly recommend!!!

The name of this place caught my attention straight away- A poem by T.S. Eliot One of the predominant themes of ''Burnt Norton'' is time and humans' relationship to it. In particular, it makes clear Eliot's view that concentrating too much on either the past or the future is something to be avoided. (Taken from Google search) This place was a charming & cozy place to come to for a quick dine in experience or for a long conversation with a new or old friend 😊 The decor makes it a very interesting place and makes it very welcoming & interesting. A great place for a cup of tea & dessert (which they have plenty to choose from on display in a case right in the restaurant) or for an entree like pasta (gnocchi) 😀 or pizza, salad, or sandwiches. Service was very good. Friendly and attentive. The only downsides would be the parking. You would have to park at a meter or parking garage nearby. The hours are 7am to 7 pm except Sundays which is 9 am to 2 pm. If you are looking for a relaxing experience with excellent gourmet food then this is a wonderful place to check out. I will be back for tea &...
