I recently visited Applebee's with a few family members to have a male to celebrate my son's wedding. Nothing too big or fancy. I mean, we were at Applebee's after all. We knew that it was possible for all of us to not be seated. Turns out that half of the group did not show up so to make sure that those of us that did show up sat together we were asking our options to have some tables put together. The waitress retrieved the manager to answer our questions. And answering our questions? The manager was very sarcastic and condescending. One question I asked was if we could have the row of six empty tables along one side of the restaurant that we were looking at pushed together and we be moved over there so that we could fit. The manager went on to tell me how I was sitting inside of Applebee's not a banquet hall and that we should have planned accordingly being that we had so many people. I acknowledge that we did have 13 people and asked again why we couldn't sit at the row of empty tables across from us. The manager said again that we were not in the banquet hall and that that is not what they do. That Applebee's does not accommodate large groups unless we call ahead. I acknowledged that we did not call ahead and pointed out the empty tables again. He told me that if he's sad us there we will create a fire hazard in the walkway because they cannot put the tables adjacent to the table that we were currently sitting at. As I begin to try to explain that I did not want to add tables to where we were I wanted us to move completely he told us that if he did that he was going to take our spots and put us back in line and we would have to wait for the next open table for a large group. I left it alone to respect the restaurants policy. What I did not like was that we sat there having our meal and celebrating for at least two hours and not a soul came to be seated in that empty section. The manager showed no remorse. Only signs of irritation and driving the point that we were not in a banquet hall home. I also did not like that there was no way to modify my receipt. The lovely waitress, Julia pointed out some happy hour specials, but I was charged full price and there was no way to modify it. People make mistakes why not have a system that can...
Read moreI have to edit my review from last Mother's Day. My mom and I went back yesterday for my birthday. The doors aren't made to stay open for pushing in a manual wheelchair. It wasn't until we got in that someone came to the door. The way to get to the ramp in that of the restaurant is not made for anyone in a push wheelchair or even a bigger chair. The person who sat us didn't even ask what we would like to drink. We waited 20 to 25 minutes just for our waitress to ask if we were ready to order, let alone what to drink. The food, however, was good. This time, my mom ordered the 12 oz ribeye medium well. When she got close to finishing, she couldn't finish because she said it was more on the rare side. It did take me 2 times to get butter for our mashed potatoes. I had to ask for silverware, and I was weary of using the knife (I didn't use it). I also had to ask for napkins. That should be a given.
When our waitress did come to our table, to be honest, my mom and I were just about to get up and leave. Waiting for someone just to ask what we wanted to drink was upsetting. In fact, I was debating whether or not to leave a tip. I did end up giving her a tip, although not as much as I was hoping to give. For my birthday dinner, I was not happy.
The host on Mother's Day who was seating everyone around 3:00, I apologize I didn't get a chance to see his name tag, and Carrie was the best. My mom and I had better service from this Applebee's than at the Applebee's in Summerville, SC. The only complaint that my mom had was about her fries.
She said that the fries were fried for about 1 to 2 minutes too long, but she loved her chicken tender plate. I had the full rack of baby back ribs with garlic mashed potatoes and coleslaw it was so good. It was 🤤🤤🤤. The only complaint I have is that it wasn't enough. We did share mozzarella sticks, and they are better than Sonic.
We will be back. I also want to say thank you to everyone who helped my mom and had patience with her as she struggles to walk. However, my mom was determined to walk, and she did. Thank you Applebee's for helping me make this Mother's...
Read moreOrdered curbside pickup. Overall, food was really good. I think the curbside experience should be improved. It’s kinda frustrating dealing with ppl that are seemingly working on their own terms not necessarily customer service oriented. When I arrived, I parked in the designated curbside pickup area and called to inform that I had arrived (there was nothing to click on to alert of arrival as mentioned in email). The person that answered the phone seemed bitter, busy and unavailable to speak to customers. There was a girl (employee) at another car talking to that party (also curbside pickup parking area) when I arrived. The girl went inside (after a while) and came out with their food and chatted a little more with them. I understand a casual conversation (enjoy ur meal, everything’s in the bag, have a great day) but not a full LONG conversation while other ppl are waiting. Give me my — food so I can go? I passed many restaurants to come here, it was a choice. I’d like to continue choosing this location. She finally came over to my vehicle and asked my name (which I gave her). Darn, didn’t I call and give that info when I arrived? Was that not communicated to her? Anyway, she brought the food out and quickly walked away. I gather that she doesn’t casually thank the customers and WAS actually having a conversation with the other car as we waited for her to wrap it up.
The kids meal (chicken Alfredo) had a great taste to it. The recipient said “I give it a zero because the chicken is so small.” I’m just the messenger. I thought it was appropriate for toddlers. The Mac n cheese seems to be different (worst) from my previous orders however, this was a kids meal and it was received with love. The wonton tacos and neighborhood beef nachos were perfect and tasted as it looked...
