Chili's Grill & Bar — Restaurant in Williamsburg

Food was decent so 3 stars, service by the server was great and 5 stars but service by the manager was bad so took off a star, and atmosphere was 1 star, which is around 2.5 stars but that's not an option so I rounded down to 2 stars overall.

I was going to this Chili's because I used to go to the Chili's in Newport News, but the Chili's in Newport News had roaches and one crawled up the wall right behind me while I was eating. So I stopped going to the Newport News Chili's and started going to the Williamsburg Chili's.

Well on my last visit to Chili's, they also had roaches, and one crawled right on the table as I was eating.

I didn't make a big deal but did let the waitress know. She had someone else come over and kill the roach. Then the waitress said the manager was coming over to talk to us.

Keep in mind that I didn't ask to speak to the manager at all. But then the manager came over and didn't really offer anything worthwhile to rectify the situation. They only offered 1 free slice of cheesecake. I would think because there was a roach literally crawling on my table that they may have offered to comp or at least discount the food. But probably because I wasn't causing a fuss or acting upset, the manager felt like they could just offer the bare minimum.

So this is now 2 Chili's that have had roaches. So maybe it's just a Chili's thing.

But the actual waitress/server was very nice and apologetic and handled the situation fantastically. I could tell she was waiting for me to get all mad and upset and to start fussing at her. But she even thanked me for being "so cool about it".

But the manager definitely handled the situation poorly. They didn't offer anything of importance to try and fix the issue. 1/2 off the meal because a roach crawled on the table should at least be offered. Or maybe a voucher for a future visit,...

Update: Now that every place has lowered their quality and cranked their prices up, it seems Chili's has found a way to get back in the game! The food is pretty much the same as it's always been, but they've made their pricing competitive and stepped up the service at this location! It is cheaper to come here and order off the lunch menu than to eat at many fast-food restaurants now, and whoever the waitress is that works the lunch hour is on fire! Will definitely be back!

Original Review: Standard Chili's flavorful, salty, reheated frozen food. The service here was awful. There was no wait to be seated, but that was the only thing that had no wait. We ordered our drinks, an appetizer, and our entrees. It all showed up at the same time, and took much longer than we expected. My wife's sizzling fajitas came out with no sizzle whatsoever, clearly while we were waiting at the table, our food was waiting under a heat lamp. We asked for plates for our appetizer, they never came. We asked for a side of ranch to go with the chicken appetizer, it never came. We asked for a single refill, wishing we had rationed our drink through the salty food, and waited... And waited... Tried ordering more drink from the table top kiosk, which didn't work. We begged for more of whatever the waitress could get to the fastest to drink, anything, tried melting our ice, it was awful. When we were first seated, there were two tables around us that needed to be bussed. You can bet we were eyeing the leftover glasses of water on them, and those tables were still filthy when we finally left. On the plus side, we were able to pay via kiosk so we didn't have to wait even longer for the wait staff. Visit 3-31-2025 visit today was good all the food was vary well from burgers, frys, chicken,egg rolls ,to vegetables all the works super freindly no issues with service " at all but the condition of the bathroom is still an unpass for me just needs to be remodeled still I am raising them to 3 star corporate needs to get off the cash fix the building

Visit 4-22-2020. Pasta Aldente tasted like it was prepared in a microwaved right off the sysco truck the Waitresses were nice atmosphere nice The establishment was pretty clean. But the food definitely lacking

Revisit 3-17-23 ok food was good this time around but service was lacking I went the whole meal with the wrong drink are server visited us at the beginning and of the meal another worker brought are meals then another for drinks 3 people came to are table in total I give her props she did take the drink off the bill and gave me a Toogo drink but if you don't check on a table in a timely fashion this can happen , total time visiting was an hour !!!
