I ordered online and then called because the a la carte burrito option did not specify the fixings that would come on it. So I called right after putting in the online order and asked if there’s anything that comes on it besides the beans that I chose and cheese that I wrote In The comment section. The gentleman said no just what I put down on the order form. I get to the store and there’s a red sauce doused on my burritos and I ask about me calling and speaking to a gentleman and stating that I specifically called and explained that I only wanted beans and cheese. The guy I Spoke with is at the register and says “no you asked if there was lettuce” I said no…I asked if there were any other fixings that came on the burrito like lettuce and tomatoes or anything else ( because clearly I don’t know everything you put on it …I don’t work at the restaurant) because the only thing I could check off was beans and I had to write in cheese but the order form listed nothing else as add ons or fixings. Then a lady fixing drinks says “ what’s the problem “ and the gentleman began speaking in Spanish, then she looks at me and says “ give me the meal back and it will take at least 10 minutes to make the burritos again because we have a lot of tickets”. So I went back in and explained my disgust with how I was treated especially after I just spent 65$. The a la carte burrito cost 3$. Give me a break. Are you really that selfish or was there another deterring factor because a business owner…and I asked for the manger and was told I was speaking to her and asked who was over her and said she owned both restaurants…a business owner knows that the customer isn’t always right , but when they are and they spent 65$ and you gripe over a 3 $ a la carte burrito and risk a negative review , you make it right. By the way the food wasn’t even that good. This won’t be my last stop. I’m just...
Read moreThis place was very delicious!
My husband and I came here on Labor Day for some lunch, and we were not disappointed. The restaurant was empty, but the lady who greeted us was very friendly and spoke great English. It was just her and one other cook, that we could see.
She informed us that their grill was down, so unfortunately we didn't get to try any of their grilled meats or seafood (carne asada, grilled shrimp, pork, etc.), but the rest of the menu was still very mixed and sounded tasty.
We got the Maria Bonita nachos to split, a beef soft taco, a Cochinitas Pibil Burrito, and a Carnitas Torta.
First off, their portions are HUGE. I got the burrito, and it was delicious. It was smothered in their signature queso, which was very tasty in itself. The pibil (seasoned pork) was so tender and flavorful, not dry at all. The nachos were delicious, even though we ordered beef but received chicken instead. We didn't care, it was all delicious.
My husband got the torta, and the beef Carnitas inside were very tender and perfectly seasoned. It came with fries, and my husband said it was delicious. He also got some horchata to drink with it, and it was very tasty (not too sweet, perfect amount of cinnamon) and refreshing.
We were so full after our giant portion of nachos (which by the way were on special for $5 in that timeframe) and chips and salsa, we could only eat half of our burrito and torta, but we took the rest home and plan to devour them once we're hungry again!
Overall a very clean facility, very friendly staff, warm and inviting atmosphere, and terrific food. Our drinks were never empty. They have both a dine-in and takeout option. I will post pictures and menus to help out. The only reason I deducted a star (in which I wish it was just a half) is because our nacho order was wrong. Other than that, this was a perfect visit.

Read moreUpdated yet again: I cannot say enough about this restaurant. We eat here at least once a week and have been doing so for about five months. But tonight....... TONIGHT we tried the tamales. Tonight has changed the way we view this restaurant in the sense that before, we felt they were the best Mexican restaurant in town, objectively. And one of our all around favorites, subjectively. Now I fully believe they are the best Mexican restaurant in the state and I would confidently put them up against any Mexican restaurant in the country. The tamales were outstanding. So now we can enjoy it even more with this new personal discovery made tonight by outside of our typical go-to menu items, based on what the employee at the Maria Bonita retail store, right behind the restaurant, told me this morning about these famous tamales.❤️ Updated review: I want the entire world to know about this place. Not only do they have the city’s best tacos (all of them are amazing), they are the sweetest people. Everyone should go and support them. Once a week every week. It’s simply heavenly, and I pray this review blesses them tremendously!
Our go-to’s: al pastor tacos, chorizo tacos, carne asada tacos, carnitas tacos. You won’t regret it. Oh. My. Simply amazing. Verrrrry authentic. We need that salsa bar in our kitchen!!!!!!! I cannot wait to try other...
