An Okay Experience Let me just start off by saying I am very biased and so I am probably being overly harsh.
Food: The food is… ok. You will find something you can eat. You won’t get food poisoning. But tbh I’m a bit underwhelmed. From just looking at the menu online, I was so excited by several options. But then when they were delivered, they kind of fell flat. For example, the pork belly mac and cheese? Sounds amazing! And the bowl they bring out is huge! But then the actual pork belly on it is so scarce. It’s just a giant bowl of noodles. And the pork belly itself is ok, but this is part of my bias because in the area I normally live in, the pork belly is usually out of this world. So this just paled in comparison. Same deal with the jerk chicken; it was kind of dry and under-seasoned at Jackass. But where I live I’m used to jerk chicken knocking your socks off, to the point of sometimes having to take a day off of work for the fiery repercussions lol. So maybe this is perfectly tuned to the locals that want some bang but don’t have an iron stomach.
Not a single person complained about the cocktails though, so they clearly shine where they focus: the booze!
Environment: You get what you expect for a brewery. It’s loud in there. When a live band started playing the floors literally shook. Just keep that in mind if you are going out to party vs. catching up with old friends and family. The facility and bathrooms are very clean and well maintained so bonus points here.
Service: This is another biassed category because I went during the holiday rush and the staff and kitchen were clearly overwhelmed. The personnel were great and friendly and tried their best, but orders and drinks were completely mixed up and took forever to come out (and in some random order). Luckily, we were all family in our group so we worked it out amongst us without issue, but I’d feel bad for any work socials. Oh, serious tip for Jackass process: When coming out with food for guests to identify their dish, don’t yell out the stupid cutesy names on the menu! No one has any clue what their order was called. Just say meat name. I get it, you’re clever, but I felt bad for the server yelling out “Mother of All Cluckers!” and all the customers trying to discuss in a committee as to whom that might belong to.
Overall it’s worth checking out if you’re local, at off-peak time, and looking for something new. If it was 5 minutes down the road I’d go all the time, but I probably wouldn’t make the trip if it was over 20+ mins away. (And in my case this is moot because I’m in another...
Read moreMy friends and I were in town for a State bowling tournament. We ate here Friday night and we received excellent service from Heidi, and the food was outstanding. This review is from our experience from today (Saturday). We decided to return because we had such a great experience on Friday night with Heidi. Tonight our waiters name was Aaron. We had a totally different experience. The food was still very good, but we had to ask numerous times for different items before they were given to us. I was missing part of my meal and had to ask three times before it was brought to me. We also asked for additional napkins which we never received. The other item that was disappointing was when I received my bill. Their menu states that under the taco selections that are on the menu, you can ask for any of them to be made into a salad. It also says that you can receive nacho chips upon request. It doesn’t say anywhere in the menu that if you convert the tacos to a salad there is a $4 up-charge! We asked the waiter about it, and he had to go ask several people before anyone could tell him that they’re definitely was an up charge, yet there is nothing on their menu that states that and the waiter never told us. Also, the menu makes it feel like the nachos are free upon request. They charged an additional two dollars for a very small pile of nacho chips. When comparing our visit from Friday to our return visit on Saturday, they were night and day. The waitress we had on Friday was perfect and did an excellent job and provided us with a great experience which is why we returned! It was very disappointing that we did not have the same service and experience on Saturday night when we returned. Consistency on how you treat your customers can be a make or break area for many restaurants. It was not overly crowded, so the waiter was either very inexperienced, not very motivated, or was overwhelmed with their...
Read moreThis was my 4th time to Jackass and my mom's first time. I was overall unimpressed unfortunately. We ordered the Show Me Your Tots and Fried Pickles for an appetizer. The tots were so drenched in queso that the whole bottom half of the bowl was basically soup/mush, we couldn't eat them. The server did offer a replacement item, however, we had the pickles which were edible but incredibly overdone, so we declined and had it removed from the bill. I had the Mambo 5 and fries for my meal, and it was not very good. The pork was dry, so I got BBQ sauce to improve it and my fries were all very crunchy. My mom got the "This Little Piggy Went to Willpo" tacos, and her meat was so greasy that she didn't even finish one whole taco. (The server again removed that from the bill). The other 2 that were with us thought the food was OK but we're pretty unimpressed. My mom said she would not return to the restaurant, and I may not as well. I have noticed each time I go, that the food quality is decreasing. I'm grateful to the server for at least removing the charges from the bill for what we didn't eat, but nonetheless it is still...
