Who knew extreme racists run businesses in the North in 2025? I stopped into this place with my husband, who is ethnically Chinese, (we are in our mid-40s, and I am white). We sat down and this woman server approximately our age and the only staff in sight, conspicuously ignored us for about 10 minutes until I went over to where she had been sprawled on the bar chatting with a man the whole time. I told her politely we needed drink and food menus. She came over eventually, and I ordered a beer; then my husband ordered the same, and she said "I'm going to need to see some ID, which she did not ask me, so he showed her his PA state ID, and she looked him up and down and said "where's your passport? I'm going to need to see that?" I looked at her and said , "excuse me, who do you think you are? Do you you need to see my passport?" And she said "you're fine, but I can't accept an ID from him; he needs to go to your car and get his passport," as if my husband weren't sitting right there. I told her I didn't know if she understands how passports work, but they are not used for travel and dining IN YOUR OWN STATE OF RESIDENCE, and then she said "well I can't accept this [current PA state ID]; it's our policy, and I told her she needed to get a manager. So she left with my husband's ID and came back 15 minutes later, literally THREW the ID across the table, and without looking at either of us says "what do you want?" I had asked my husband during the time whether he wanted to just leave due to the obvious extreme racism and ignorance, but we decided she wasn't going to get away with it in a public establishment that, by the way, was empty at the time. This woman never apologised, never showed one ounce of remorse for her discriminatory behaviour, and no one came out to apologise for it either, which means everyone there is as complicit. Without hyperbole, this is the most racist and violent experience I've ever had in public in this country, and not for nothing, the beer was really bad too. This place should be...
Read more3 stars due to hostess and bartender being so polite. We have eaten here many times over the years. Last night, my family and I made reservations there for dinner at 6pm after running the Paws For a Cause race so that we could use our winner mugs for a free drink. There was a mixup with how many people were in our party (not their fault!), so we did not get to eat there and we had to give up our table, but we did stay for our free drink. However, the one waitress (brunette, skinny, hair up in a claw clip, was wearing a blue cardigan) was so incredibly rude that we told the hostess because we felt WE had done something wrong (the hostess assured us we didn't and that the waitress was just "really stressed from being there all day"). We were standing at the bar ordering our drinks, and she shoved herself between my mom and my sister (with Down Syndrome) and was saying "excuse me excuse me excuse me" and rolled her eyes at them. Then said "hi. could you uhm please mooove down this way?" and rolled her eyes again. I said to her "of course. I apologize. I didn't realize you were in such a foul mood tonight." This isn't the first time we had a poor experience with a server here, but this was the worst and we have zero desire to go back. We understand everyone gets stressed, but there is no need to take it out on others who are literally minding their own business. We tipped the bartender heavily because he was very pleasant and polite. And the hostess did apologize multiple times for that waitress's rudeness, which was...
Read moreEveryone working there was super friendly. Most food was really good as were the beers. Fresh cut fries were amazing as were the nachos, and chili. The Cuban was really good flavor wise, however there wasn’t much meat or toppings, so over half the sandwich was just bread.
Reason for the 3 stars over 5 is staffing. They had a giant party in the back, which backed things up. After we ordered our nachos as an app and our meals she let us know they were on a long wait for food due to kitchen being overwhelmed. Server was really nice, and having the wait was fine to an extent. However, they kept pilling tables in with low staff, which lead to an overall bad experience. Half hour after ordering the nachos they came out. This was fine due to the warning, but less than 5 minutes after our food came out, so we had to eat our app and food at the same time. On top of that our server was trying to get all the tables that kept coming in, so we kind of didn’t get service. We had to get up and get ketchup. Also, we were unable to order more beers with our meal due to her tryin to take care of other tables. Thus, we had one beer each and barely had anything to drink with all the food. She was finally able to ask us if we wanted more beer when we were ready to leave. We were there about 90 minutes when all was said and done, and as stated above only able to enjoy a beer each and eat...
