I get to be one of the first to review panda express willis. I really like panda express and have for years. Fast, cheap, and good... usually. Ill cut them a break since they just opened. First experience December 16 2018. Not sure if its the first day open. They were busy, and the place is clean and nice looking inside and out. I got chow mein, orange chicken and shanghai beef. Everything had great flavor, but it was all cold. The same for my wife. Tonight we got the same things. I decided to go in and order to go so i could see what i was getting. It was 8:15 pm and they were barely busy. 1 family in front of me and 1 family behind me. There was barely any chow mein so the man in front asked for fresh. I also wanted the same. She said 2 minutes and moved on to me. I ordered my wifes bowl, then my plate. I told her i also wanted fresh chow mein. After a few minutes the chow mein is ready. They finish the man in front of me and then start making the people behind me and they were getting the chow mein as well. They forgot my plate. The cashier starts ringing me up and i told her i didnt get my plate, they just forgot and skipped me. I had to say it like 3 times to 3 different employees and they just kept making other plates behind me. I was really getting frustrated. They were all getting frantic. The people behind me had their plates finished and im still waiting. The man behind me even told them that they hadnt finished my order. They kept passing my wifes bowl around not knowing where it went. It took a minute for them to pull themselves together and finish my 2 item plate. I understand. I waited tables for years, but this is much simpler. This place has the potential to do alot of business, but they really need to improve a few things. There needs to be communication, and a strong managers presence and experience. I realize they are working out the kinks, so ill be friendly, but hot food and efficiency needs to improve for sure. A positive note, everyone seems very friendly, and i like the open kitchen amd cleanliness of the place. Keep up the hard work and develop your team to be strong!

Went to Panda Express in Willis Texas yesterday, Friday, October 30th, 2020. Have always loved eating at Panda Express and during the pandemic, ordering and bringing it home. Not anymore. This just about grossed me out. I do not want a free meal off of it, so I did not return with a complaint. I just want people to be aware there could be critters in their food. I will not eat there again, free or not! When googled, what I found on the chicken when I was going to give my dog a bite, was an onion fly larva. I served my food on a plate and when I turned back to give my dog a bite, I noticed this larva. Just about lost it.

These pieces of cabbage in the chow mein were the size of the palm of my hand!! They must have mistook me for a cabbage when I walked in the establishment. Very cheap location to give this much cabbage. Who wants to chew on a 4.5” piece of cabbage for dinner? Yummy yummy EDIT: changing to one star after another bad experience. 2 chance rule didn’t work here, another awful experience. Never eat here. ❤️

Gave me the wrong rice. Called it fried but methinks it was brown. Rice was disgusting. Egg roll was not worth 25 cents. Better egg rolls at Jack in the Box. No wrapped fork or napkins. Worst part was the order taker. Could not understand the accent or sing-song speech. The meal gave me intestinal distress. Diet Coke was very, very good. Beijing beef was amazing. Will return but will be more selective.

Update:

They still have a problem with filling the sterile clamshell dish. You never seem to get a full portion. Moreover, they have now switched to a “smaller“ clam shell dish. Are margins so tight in this business that they have to keep reducing volume and increasing prices?

Update 2 “Rude” is the word. She suggested that I wasn’t telling the truth. I told her to cancel the order. She said Ok, as if saying “we don’t need your business.” She could have easily saved the sale and a long time customer. Poor choice of employee. GOODBYE.

Update 3 I am really amazed that a restaurant in this nice of a neighborhood has such poor performance as shown by other reviews.

My wife and I went in to sit down and I ordered a double dose of Beijing beef. There was not enough in the chafing dish to make the whole order so the server said take what’s here and then I’ll bring you the rest in five minutes when it’s ready. Fine I said.

We sat down, and I started eating what I hoped would be Beijing beef, but tasted more like sautéed earth. It wasn’t very warm, it was extremely crunchy and I had some fear of possibly breaking a tooth. The sauce was tasty and the veggies, although cold, were tasty Also. After waiting the directed five minutes for the balance of my food, I started looking around for my server, who was nowhere to be found. At about 22 minutes after the appointed time, I found her walking around the dining room, looking for something to do. I had to get out of my seat, walk over to the serving line and remind her what she had promised. She then dished out about 70% of an order of Beijing beef in a little plate and handed it to me. Well, on the bright side, this food, which had just been cooked, was much warmer than the first batch. It was incredibly spicy showing me that no two batches are made alike. The nice thing was I could chew it without feeling like my teeth would break.

It appeared to me that the original plate of food had more on it than a carry out portion would because they downsized the clam shell dishes.

The Diet Coke was...

Best to stay away till they clean up their hygiene protocols!

I placed my order fifteen minutes ahead of my arrival time as generally a family meal takes longer to make. As soon as I placed the order I receive a message that my order was ready for pickup. It took me 10 minutes to arrive to the restaurant, another 3 minutes waiting in the online pickup area only to be told that they were behind and to wait.... so why was I sent a message that my order was ready....

While waiting at the restaurant I got a chance to notice many things. O my goodness, I tell you, the level of hygiene this restaurant has is awful. I saw not one, not 2, but 4 people touch the crab rangoons they were serving customers with bare hands. Not all at the same time of course. So 2 were grabbing the tongs and in passing touched the crab rangoons. The other 2 touched them when closing the boxes. If they're going to have that much contact with the food they need to wash their hands more. I worked in food service and know that you wash your hands if you touch food. Especially when customers can see everything you do. I saw 2 of your cashiers also open the boxes and stick their nasty hands in the containers before putting the food in there. If they're going to do that they need to wash their hands and dry them off FIRST! What kind of restaurant are y'all running here. I saw you guys recently hired a ton of people and the ladies who worked there before always wore gloves and were always clean especially working on people's food. The only time I saw anyone wash their hands was a manager coming back from break. This is not acceptable. This much contact with food y'all need to either throw the food away or enforce more hand washing. You're gonna get...
