Portillo's has undeniably become one of my favorite dining destinations, and my recent experience left me spellbound. From the moment I stepped foot into this culinary haven, I was immersed in a vibrant atmosphere that perfectly complemented the exceptional cuisine.

As a lover of classic American fare, I was enthralled by Portillo's extensive menu. Whether you're in the mood for their famous Chicago-style hot dogs, delectable Italian beef sandwiches, or mouthwatering cheeseburgers, you'll find yourself spoilt for choice. I opted for the Italian beef sandwich, and it surpassed all my expectations. The tender, thinly-sliced beef, combined with perfectly seasoned au jus, nestled within a fresh, soft roll, created a symphony of flavors that danced on my taste buds.

Portillo's commitment to quality is evident in every aspect of their food. Each ingredient is carefully sourced, ensuring the highest standards of taste and freshness. The attention to detail is commendable, as every bite reflects the skill and expertise of their talented chefs. Whether it's the crispiness of the golden fries or the creamy richness of their chocolate cake, each dish is a testament to their dedication to culinary excellence.

What truly sets Portillo's apart is the ambiance they create. The restaurant exudes a nostalgic charm, reminiscent of a bygone era. The vintage decor, adorned with memorabilia and old-fashioned signs, transports you to a time when dining out was an experience in itself. The staff members, dressed in retro uniforms, are warm, welcoming, and exude a genuine passion for their work. Their enthusiasm only enhances the overall dining experience, making it all the more enjoyable.

Portillo's also deserves accolades for their efficiency and exceptional service. Despite its popularity and frequent bustling crowds, the staff remains organized and attentive, ensuring that orders are promptly taken and delivered with care. The ordering process is streamlined, and the staff handles even the busiest of hours with utmost professionalism.

Moreover, the attention to cleanliness and hygiene is worth highlighting. The restaurant maintains a pristine environment, which is crucial, especially in today's health-conscious times. It further adds to the trust and confidence one can have in Portillo's as a dining destination.

In conclusion, Portillo's is a culinary gem that captures the essence of American comfort food in the most delightful manner. It offers a memorable experience with its exceptional cuisine, impeccable service, and captivating ambiance. Whether you're a local or a visitor to their establishments, a trip to Portillo's is an absolute must. I can't wait to return and savor more of their...

Curbside pickup staff was NOT up to the Task. On 5/21/2021 at 6:24-25pm we ordered over the phone for 2 BIG ITALIAN BEEF.

She ask to confirm my number which is 8901. She then ask for my name, gave my full name. Ordered 2 BIG BEEF. We paid with CC over the phone. She then said it will be ready by 6:40.

Awesome.

By 6:43pm, we park at spot #6 for Curbside pickup and texted.

Refer to pictures for our texted messages.

It didnt go as expected.

She ask for ORDER #, which we didn't received when we called. Thought name and last 4 digits of phone was enough (those were the only thing she ask me when I made the order and she didn't tell me anything else other than what time it will be ready, unless she did but I didn't hear it)

She then ask if it was a REMAKE or PICKUP. She ask for CONFIRMATION # Then she said we should get the confirmation # in the email. (What email? We ordered by phone) Then she ask what email I gave over the phone. She didn't ask for my email )

Told her she didn't ask for any email.. I then texted her my 4# phone number.

She said nothing. There's no order here.

A few more texted and I decided to go inside.

Turns out the lady who took my order on the phone and the lady who's been texting me are the same person.

Not only that, on the order receipt stapled on the bag is my phone number, 2 big beef.... and she said she got nothing for me? The same phone number I use to text her. She also got my name wrong.

I think this is an example of an employee who is trying to play mischief. ( the car next to us, spot #5, the driver also went in and came out with his order, possibly with the same problem)

So either she is very SLOW, incapable for the given task or trying to play some game, I'm not amused. It took us about 15 minutes from time we parked to the time she handed the order. See the texts on the uploaded screenshot, you decide what you think.

I'm not ordering curbside pickup next time, it took longer than drive thru plus our order was already cold, and the aggravation and me still needing to go inside to sort things out totally defeats the purpose. ( unless thats her plan all along, to discouragepeople from doing curbside)

Also, when I made the phone order, I gave her the last 4 digits and yet on the receipt, its the full phone number, so she knows, I think she's playing around.

At lot of 1 star reviews are also related to curbside pickup and phone/online orders as it turned out, some waited 30 minutes, one guy went home without his order, another waiting 45 and so on. I guess 15 minutes ain't as bad, but I'm not coming back...

Very disappointed in the service. I called in to order a large party salad, was transferred to the cater team. Placed order at 1:30, I was told it would be ready by 2:30. I advised I’d be closer to 3, she offered to have t ready later and I declined and asked to keep it for 2:30 in case I could get there earlier. She advised no problem. I showed up at 3:20…they couldn’t find my order. Though I watched them talking amongst themselves and said they’d go to the salad department, not once did they give me an update. At this point there’s 10 more people in the line, all who ordered ahead of time, it was more than 10 minutes before one of the staff assisted or talked to any of us. Finally another patron just yelled asking about his order and they handed it to him right away. I then asked about mine, and again they talked amongst themselves about where my SALAD (that’s it) and bread were, but never gave me a update. At 4pm I was finally handed my salad… I called to talk to a manager about the experience, I was transferred many times to a phone that rang for more than 5 minutes and then the line was picked up and then we was hung up on. I called back and the gentlemen said I can transfer you to a manager and I said no, no, please put me down and and get the manager I don’t want to be transferred again…I was transferred. After another minute and a half of ringing another gentlemen picked up, I asked if he was a manager and he said no I’ll transfer you and before I could say anything I’m ringing again, but this time only 3.5 minutes of ringing before I was AGAIN picked up and then hung up on again. I’ve never ever left a bad review, and I’m always understanding when it’s busy, but their process, or lack there of, is awful and I think they need to know they need to improve not only their training on how to work in a fast paced environment, but also communication with their customers and listen. I wont bother going to this location again. Disappointed and frustrated to say the least and now late for the party I am bringing...

I don’t know what kind of operation Portillo’s is running, but tonight’s experience was a complete embarrassment. After waiting 20 minutes in the drive-thru, they got my order wrong and completely forgot my house salad. I had to wait another 5 minutes for them to fix it – and mind you, no apology, no urgency, just the usual robotic attitude like it's my fault for expecting competence. Then I get home and discover the fries – four orders of them – are cold, stale, and clearly not fresh. I don’t know if Portillo’s has redefined what “fresh” means, but if this is it, they should be ashamed. I spent $67 on this disaster of a meal, and it tasted like it came out of a dumpster that had been sitting in the sun. I called to complain and was put on hold for 10 minutes before a manager finally picked up. She actually had the nerve to deny the food was stale because, and I quote, “we make our fries fresh.” Ma’am, I’m holding these fries in my hand. I tasted them. I know what cold, rubbery, hours-old fries are. What I received was not “fresh” by any definition outside of delusion. Her only offer? Come back and get new fries. No credit. No apology. No acknowledgment of the waste of time, money, and gas. Apparently, unless you're standing there in person begging for edible food, you’re out of luck. Here’s a tip: if you can’t maintain food quality and basic customer service through your drive-thru, don’t offer it. Portillo’s clearly doesn't care about the customer experience unless you're causing a scene at the counter. Absolutely unacceptable and never again.

I am not going back to Portillos, I am tired of being blown off by bad employees that dont care....I ordered my food on their app. You can no longer go through drive thru for pick up. There are places to park and text in your name to have them bring your order out, except they don't bring out your order. I called to ask and they told me you have to come in to pick up and then they hung up on me. When I went in to pick up my food I stood at counter for 7 minutes and no one came over. I called to ask where to go for food pickup, they instructed me to go to the place I was standing. I told them there was nobody there she told me someone was there and someone else will come over. A minute or two later someone (looked like was a manager) came over and handed food out. When he called my name and handed me my food, I had a feeling it was not all there, luckily I checked because I was missing my burgers. I called him back to tell him, he looked and found my other bag and handed to me. By this time I was a bit agitated, I told him that I thought Portillos doesn't make the app very easy to use. His reply was "whatever " and turned and walked away. This is the 2nd bad experience I have had at this location in a row. I have deleted their app and will not buy anything from Portillos.
