It would be generous to say the staff at this location are in the “service” industry. With glaring incompetence starting at the top of their management and trickling all the way down into the wait staff, you’d do better to hand mill your own flour, build a pizza oven, and attempt to DIY a meal completely from scratch. Our poor waitress, Anna, has clearly not even been through the most basic customer service trainings. She is very animated and personable with an instantly likable personality. For a manager to allow such an asset to remain completely uncoached is an egregious disservice to the entire team.
Upon entering the business…nothing. Well, not quite nothing as we were greeted by an exasperated customer standing inside the door who informed us that no one had taken her name yet. Others nearby nodded their heads in silent dissatisfaction. Some 5-10 minutes later the entire group of about 5 or 6 separate parties were finally greeted in unison by the manager who nonchalantly asked “who’s next?” Over the next 30 or so minutes, parties trickled in and out of the door while being missed entirely by staff. Meanwhile, the general manager flitted around the restaurant with an impressive lack of purpose. From one moment to the next you’d see him go from the hostess stand to plating dishes in the kitchen to stacking huge piles of dirty dishes into the centers of tables where flies began to circle. I don’t think a single staff member cleared tables as they worked which led to a startling number of tables that remained dirty for far too long, disgusting monuments to dissatisfied meals past. Poor sweet Anna seated us with a rushed monologue about how unsustainable their situation had become. She informed us that not only were they out of nearly all clean dishes but things had grown so dire that she had to clean a plate just to serve another customer their food. What I’m sure was an attempt to garner sympathy and patience took an ugly turn into complaining about her job…to the customers…as a first interaction. She obviously has good instincts. Someone who can read a crowded restaurant and intuitively know that she needs to convey a need for understanding and the likelihood of increased wait times has incredible potential. It is absolutely abhorrent that a manager would fail so spectacularly to train his team in customer communications. When servers should have been quickly flowing in and out of the kitchen with dishes in their hands, we instead found ourselves surrounded by behemoth stacks of dirty plates, given plasticware all while being told “you’re the ones who chose to eat here, I’d just be glad to get the plastic fork if I was you.”
Please: fire the manager and coach your staff. If Anna is representative of the rest of the staff, you already have the makings for a delightful dining experience. You simply need a halfway competent leader.
On a brighter note, the...
Read moreMy husband asked if they still had kids cheese pizza as I was looking for a low sodium option (this place has extremely high sodium content in literally everything. Like insane levels. The girl says she can only sell them to children under 10. He explained I needed a low sodium option and she said she would ask. I said don't worry abt it I'll figure it out because honestly I was already EMBARASSED. It took me an additional 10 mins to SCOUR and find something I could eat like 1/3 of and be okay. So when she comes back she allows us to order...so we do. At the VERY END after we handed the menu, she said oh BTW I found out I can sell it if it's a health restriction. I was already stressed over how much time I wasted and how embarrassing the situation is, so I just said no and kept the hummus order I could eat about half of. Why was something not said sooner when I made it clear I was sitting there researching online trying to find something I could have. If that part wouldn't have happened I probably would have had a better disposition. I literally wanted to leave 0 tip. I still left a good one just because I'm not that kind of person. If this is something yall do for monetary reasons, I would have paid the price of a full pizza for it- I just can't eat your normal pizza which is literally just nothing but salt. But the whole encounter could be conveyed better, and the message given by your employees needs to be more tactful- people with health restrictions just want to come eat, not feel like we are asking for something borderline illegal good lord. Okay. That's all. Won't be back. Avoid this place if you have any dietary restrictions, it's gonna be a problem.
I suggest you go back to school because obviously BOTH reading comprehension and math are not something you're proficient in. Let me help. There's over a ONE THOUSAND milligram difference between the items. Lmaoooo. It I wanted something WITHOUT SALT entirely, nothing would qualify and I wouldn't have gotten anything at all obviously. The entire situation went right over your head just like providing good service does.
I really hope a degree wasn't...
Read moreJuly 15,2023 amending my original 5 star review. I’ve we have been on several occasions and 3 x in the last month of July. I canning say I am pleased with the new menu, restroom cleanliness, or mainly the food quality. Unfortunately I did not grab a picture from my last experience yesterday.
The bottom of 2 out of 5 pizzas were totally black. I should have said something about mine at the time I agree. But instead I did much like most patrons. I dealt with it. The restroom toilet paper was laying on the floor. Another picture I didn’t get but you really can’t make this stuff up. When I got home the 2 pizzas I ordered for take out were okay but one was over cooked as was mine there. My friend’s 11 year old made a comment about his Hawaiian pizza not being good before we had the chance to consider taking about it.
At this point if they don’t do something to act on bathroom experience and cleanliness, and quality of their food, Brixx will miss out of a few frequent fliers. Ball is in their court. Next time I go I will share a new review on my experience from restrooms, quality of food I.e. pizza
Original ReviewSee above for latest experience. Frequent fliers here. We hit up Brixx at least 2x a month. Food is generally consistent. We mostly sit at the bar or outside. Service is good and we like the beer selection. Usually an IPA to please. Check out their beer specials. I would recommend Brixx training staff on legacy ordering. If I want a pizza that was retired last week, there is a book to reference. Brixx to note - Ladies restrooms could use some TLC. Otherwise it’s a chain - quality is consistent. Service is like anyplace. Some days great, some days not so much. Overall we enjoy the food...
